I have been on a quest to find calming chews that work for my 4 huskies, is easy to administer, that they will all eat and that won't break the bank. These chews come close, but not quite there for me. They do seem to help with calming the dogs. They are loaded with all kinds of known calming ingredients, so I would expect them to do the job. They come in a chew form, which is great. But only two of my dogs will eat these as a treat, the other two sniff it and walk away. That is fairly unusual. They will eat it if it is included in their food, however. It could just be that they are not fans of Duck flavor. As for price, these are among the more expensive calming chews, but they also include more calming ingredients than others. One dose for all 4 of my large dogs requires a total of 16 chews, so I burn through these pretty quickly.If these work for your dog, and you are OK with the price, these are a solid choice for separation anxiety and calming your pet. They are loaded with well known calming ingredients and are easy to administer. I may need to keep looking for my specific case.

Perfect for calming a nervous dog in the evening. All of the ingredients are familiar to us and give the dog the same sleepy feeling we get after a big Turkey dinner and a cup of herbal tea. Add the benefits of melatonin and you’ve got a good alternative to heavier medications. My three Dalmatians say it tastes good too! No tummy upset. Helps with fear of toenails being clipped too.Update: if I could give these more than five stars I would! My Dalmatians are mostly calm dogs so only the toenail clipping and fear of the smoke alarm helped me to test the chews at first. I have my own pet sitting business for the past 23 years and offer home away from home environment, not a kennel. The little Shiba Inu in the pic above had her owner pass away. Now she has severe anxiety if something changes or if someone coughs. She could not calm down and quit shaking and crying and panting wild eyed at bed time. I hated giving her heavy duty drugs the first two nights. So I buttered two Zen Bites ( because she’s very picky) and she ate them! An hour later she was peaceful and fast asleep in her bed near my dogs. It works like a miracle and we were able to sleep all ten days that her remaining owner was gone. Her dog mom is ordering Zen Bites tonight!

I didn't notice any calming effect at the recommended dosage. The treats look great, smell great, taste great, and the dogs love them, so two stars for that, and an extra star for the awesome screw cap jar, but the price is way excessive for dog treats that fail to achieve the claimed calming effect.

The product did not calm my shih tzu, it actually made him very hyper and heart was beating extremely fast

She already has a jar of calming treats by another brand, and I got these as a backup for when she runs out. But I wanted to go ahead and test them on her, so I’ve used them a few times in the last few weeks. The first time was when there was a lot of aggravated noise going on in the house (moving boxes, etc.) which makes her nervous. The second time was when she was feeling unsettled and pained by a rash and I gave her a chew at bed time to help her sleep. The third time was today before a nail trim which always horrifies her. Each time, these have performed exceptionally well. They smell really good to me. And she is very keen on the flavour and happy to get them. They also seem to take effect more quickly than the other brand. The first time she tried one of these, she actually got in a happy vocalizing mood, which is very rare for her! She is normally a very quiet dog. It amused me. She was obviously feeling quite Zen-like. I will probably continue to purchase and use this brand for her.

I'm not really sure how well these chews are working on my dog. He is an 8lb Yorkie and at night can be a little aggressive/jealous towards another dog of ours when he is tired.I can't say it doesn't work for dogs with other types of anxiety or firework fear, etc.. because my dog isn't using it for that. But behaviorally, it doesn't seem to calm him or chill him out in that way.After the second time I gave him a chew (a couple of days after the first), I put him to bed and he peed his bed, which he never does, so I'm unsure if it had to do with the chews' ingredients like melatonin, etc...but it is worth mentioning.He eats the treat no problem, so he must like the flavor, but I will have to really examine him the next time he takes one.I will update this review if I see any further evidence that they work (or don't work).

I recently found a little Yorkie running around the intersection of two highways.. I took him to a Rescue, and they tried desperately to find bis owners, but when all efforts failed, I went ahead and adopted a little guy. He’s had a tough run, he is high strung and is very nervous.I’ve been trying to crate, train him, and he really doesn’t like the crate. He shakes and cries. I gave him two of these each night before bed, and it really helps soothe his nerves so he can fall asleep. He love the taste of them, and I love the effect. These are winners.
