Fascinating, but ultimately bulls---.
This book is a re-issue--main text unchanged---of a Corgi pb first published in the late 1970s under the title "Briefing For a Landing on Planet Earth". `Tom' aka `Atum' aka the leader of the "Ancient Egyptian Ennead of Nine Gods" asserts that `Space Brothers' from the planetary system of the Star Sirius are going to land on Planet Earth in order to take over World direction of Environmental issues---a sort of planetary govt. The fact that the landing on Planet earth never materialised is obviously the reason for the change of title in this 2003 issue from the earlier title "Briefing For Landing on Planet Earth", first published in the 1970s, with identical text to the latest offering. Their failure to land also strongly suggests that `Tom' is spurious. The earlier book has an introduction by author Colin Wilson in which Wilson suggests that such spirit communicants are probably mischief making and spurious. Incidentally, the humans behind this Project, led by Sir John Whitmore, first called their Project "Lab Nine". Over time, it has morphed into a new masonic order with about four or five branches in different countries, calling itself "Ancient Universal Mysteries". Whitmores' adventures in the spirit world and his manoeuvrings on the earth plane are written up in "The Stargate Conspiracy" by UK authors Lynne Picknett and Clive Prince.
