Workhorse of a knife – sharp and well balanced
I must admit this when I received this knife, the unwrapping process was an enjoyable one. Unsheating the knife from the knife guards, you are presented with an alluring knife. Bling Bling all day! The Damascus pattern was subtle whereas the forged hammering provided texture. I really like the smooth wood handle with the ornamental rivet. It is striking. The knife is well balanced at the bolster center point. There is also a microfiber cloth included to keep your knife nice and shiny.I will not say is it super sharp out of the box but it does cut well without any stropping on my part. The heftiness of the knife suits well for downward cutting motions. Although I like the wooden handle, its smoothness requires me to deliberately regrip each time I slice. With time, this probably will be second nature to me. Not a big deal but I like to have a reassuring control on the knife which is why my preferred grip is the knife blade grip.The knife cuts through all vegetables and proteins with ease. The VG-10 steel is perfect for kitchen usage. With proper cleaning and drying, I see this knife being my workhorse for a long time.I also own the Wusthof Classic Chef Knife. Comparing the two was interesting. The Wusthof is clearly the heavier knife and much sharper out of the box. It is also more expensive and I do use it with more TLC. I clearly do not mind using the Wonhag 8 inch Chef knife as my daily knife. One of my favorite chefs, Michael Symon, indicated a chef’s knife should handle 90 percent of the work in the kitchen.Overall, the Wonhag is a great knife to use on a daily basis. It should require some sharpening from time to time and VG-10 steel is easy to sharpen. The knife is a beauty to look at. It is well balanced with nice ergonomics. The cutting angles will not fatigue you with extended use. I do recommend this in the Black version. I also love the Brown and Grey color versions. Very Affordable. 5 Stars.

Beautiful knife. Very easy to maneuver
This 8 inch knife is as gorgeous as it can be. It has damascus pattern. It looks just like those premium one out there. The maneuverability is fantastic. With it, you can slice any meat or vegetable or fruit easily.
