please confirm if the ram is upgradable or not ?

This has been answered, but I want to elaborate a bit. The i5 and i7 flavors of this model have upgradeable RAM, but the i3 flavor does not. This is the model TP740E. Please understand it is NOT TP740EZ or TP740EA which you may read ARE upgradeable. Mine came today and it is the TP740E version. I purchased it seeing mixed reports on the model, but when I received mine (hoping it WAS upgradeable), I discovered it is not. It's a nice laptop nonetheless and its well worth its price tag, but I will likely turn mine into a Linux machine given this bit of bad news. I tend to require fewer resources in Linux than in Windows.

If you are referring to basic (499.00) model the short answer is no. The ram is soldered to board. It can be replaced by competent repair shop.
