Teach Yourself VISUALLY Facebook Paperback – October 1, 2012

Part of my work in web development is to train my clients how to use social media. This is an excellent book for visual learners and, really, anybody who wants to get up to speed fast. Information is broken down into bite-size pieces. Each chapter starts with a quick overview and a table of contents for what's covered in that chapter. Each page starts with a simple and clear explanation of the task, then step-by-step instructions with screen-grabs and bullet-point instructions for each and every step to complete a task, and lastly, quick tips. There is not an extra or unnecessary word to be found.As Facebook is a quickly moving target,if you need to learn Facebook for marketing purposes, even this book published just a year ago will not have all the newest changes and functions. But you will get an excellent overview and feel comfortable performing all the basic tasks to use Facebook for everyday needs.

Teach yourself? I don't know about that. You will probably need a friend to answer some questions that this doesn't. I 've seen many computer books and have yet to find one answering every question. It didn't answer the question I have, but then neither did the other 3 Facebook books. This has nice, clear print and is more easily read than some of the others. This does teach you to get started and points out some of the pitfalls an unsuspecting person may face. Very useful for a beginner or for someone who has to look things up once in awhile.

Great book but wasnt as easy to follow as i hoped. A lot of things were left to figure out yourself. If you have some knowledge of facebook this may be great but if you are just getting into social media this may need an easier version to follow for first time users.

I am new to FB and purchased this book to help me with marketing and promotion of my homebased business. While it has proved quite helpful, the book is 3 yrs old and much has changed on FB since this was written. However, with a little patience I have been able to use the book to my advantage. Not sorry I purchased it, but would recommend people seek a more recent book of this type.

I am still learning. A very good book. It's the way to start.

This book makes learning to use Facebook easy. All the steps are done with a visual. So you just follow along with the guide. It's the best reference I've seen.

After a rather confusingly long intro, this book does what it says. I am not adept at Facebook yet but soon will be, thanks to the clear directions given.

It would not be fair to review it just yet because I'm still getting it out of the box and need to read a few chapters.

I’m disappointed with myself for not checking this out first. There were no Facebook user guides with good reviews and what there were had only a few pages. This looked good but was written in 2012 when Facebook was very different. On the plus side it was well written and illustrated. Just need a 2022 version.

This book unfortunately is already out of date and is quite frustrating as many of the buttons that were available to use are no longer so you end up taking time looking for the alternative.

Outdated already. Very very beginner book.
