This thing is so helpful if you have hip pain. It's big, so it covers the entire hip region. It stays cold a very long time.A few things that are good to know:It is large, so it takes up a lot of real estate in the freezer.It is heavy, so I am not sure how feasible it is to use this standing up (like the product picture) or walking around. Not an issue for me because I use it while I am laying down.

I love the large size and flexibility of the pad. It molds to the shape of the area where you have pain. I read other reviews and quite a few people reported the pack wasn’t very cold. Mine is very cold, to the point I had to put an extra layer between me and the pack which is fine because when it starts to cool down I just remove the extra layer. Others said the pack didn’t stay cold. I’m going on about 35 minutes right now and still haven’t removed my extra layer. I haven’t had my hip surgery yet, but I was always told you shouldn’t keep an ice pack on for more than 20 minutes at a time anyway (not that I really follow that rule). Maybe it’s different for hip surgery. Anyway, I think this thing is great and would recommend it to anyone not just hip patients..

XL was the right as it fits perfectly. Soft liner adds to comfort.

This works great! Using it since my husband had replacement surgery, it words great, easy to fit and stays cold for a long time. The machine the hospital gave us wasn’t as cold and dripped. We totally recommend this one!

This is an excellent ice pack for hip surgery, but can be used for many other locations. Its soft gel is ice cold but not hard so it’s really good against tender wounds. It does take a while to get cold but if you keep 2 in rotation it makes a huge difference. The straps are wide, stable, and comfortable. The Velcro loop material is along the entire strap so the hook end will stick anywhere. The bottom strap is a bit long for regular sized thighs, but you can bring it to the top strap. I got the XL pack to get more coverage across the buttocks and hip.

Love the feel and the materials, quality is great with a long lower strap. The upper strap is too short to wrap around my waist to properly secure it where I need it. I bought it for sciatic nerve pain in my right hip. To me it seems to be more of an XXL knee pack instead of a hip pack.

Like the fit. It is secure to the hip area which is where it was needed for my brothers hip replacement. He said it was easy to secure and comfortable and did a great job. Very pleased!!

Nothing dainty or delicate about this gel pack. Excellent size to cover hip from surgery. Works great.

These are a fabulous concept following my total hip replacement but they don't stay cold for long, and that's despite plunking them in our deep freeze instead of the freezer below our fridge. Otherwise they are comfortable, I like the fuzzy size against the skin so I don't need to use a barrier and that I could strap it if I needed cooling while mobilizing. Stars lost because they don't stay cold long enough. I do have two that I'm alternating between, but I'd almost need another two to have consistent cold packs. I opted to buy regular long icepacks to use in addition to the two I have. For 50$ I expected more of these- no leaks though.

Bought these for after my hip replacement surgery. They are good, but do feel very cold even using the flocked side. I suggest putting a small cloth between your skin and the flocked side for best effect.

Works as expected. Stays flexible when frozen. Outside is a plastic type material and sweats a lot as you wear it so have a hand towel over it if laying down.

This is brilliant - much better than others I’ve tried. It’s a great size / covers whole outer hip area - soft comfortable fabric - straps work well - I’m a size 22 and the waist one just makes it, so check the size, but otherwise couldn’t fault it.
