It’s a great mat and well made and I wanted my dog to use it but he wouldn’t go on it at all and I tried my hardest to get him to use it especially since we had weeks of 100 degree weather. I ended up returning it and the company refunded me with no issues

I am a big fan of these "cooling fabrics" and regularly sleep with a cooling blanket myself so I thought my dog might appreciate it. The cooling side of it is smooth and comfortable. Obviously it's not actively changing the temperature, but it's like lying on a cool tile floor. Only without the hard tile aspect.Main issue is with the "machine washable" claim. The inner foam pad folded over itself in the wash, and even after hours of trying to air dry it, the foam was still soaking wet. I ended up using scissors to cut a slit in the back of the bed and just pull the foam pad out. It was much easier to let it dry separately and then put it back in flat. This style of bed would be much better if it just came with a zipper so you could take the cover off to wash it.

My dog did seem to prefer it to warmer beds and hard flooring. My complaint is that the cover isn’t removable, and when you wash it, the thin mattress inside gets bunched/folded up. I’ve tried to get it back to a flat and well-distributed state but without success.

It doesn’t really cool. While it’s cool to the touch, the minute it makes contact with a body, it warms up. It works best in an air conditioned room that is already cool. Not great for spaces without AC.
