Die Geschichte eines in die Jahre gekommenen Fußballstars und eines jungen Fußballfans: Im Israel der späten 1960er ist Eitan ein erfolgreicher Stürmer seines Vereins. Der junge Nimrod bewundert ihn und nimmt Reißaus, um ihn persönlich kennenzulernen. Der Spieler selbst nimmt sich immer wieder vor, aufzuhören. Doch Sorgen um seine Zukunft hindern ihn daran. Da macht ihm der skrupellose Yasha ein verhängnisvolles Angebot: Wenn Eitan dafür sorgt, dass sein Team verliert, ist für seinen sicheren Lebensabend gesorgt. Als der Spieler auf das Kind Nimrod trifft, beginnt er seinen Plan zu überdenken ... Der bekannte britische Schauspieler Richard Harris führte bei diesem Film über einen Fußballer, der sich in einer Lebenskrise befindet, selbst Regie. An seiner Seite ist Romy Schneider als erfolgreiche Bildhauerin zu sehen. Gedreht wurde in Isarel, Tel Aviv und Jaffa im Herbst 1969. Bad sound and picture quality! Disappointing DVD!
I am so disappointed. Was waiting for ages to finally get a proper DVD (after the US DVD must have been a Bootleg version). But it seems that they've taken an old VHS cassette as a master to create this DVD. The picture quality is quite poor and the sound has several dropouts as we know them from old video cassettes.When will this Little Romy Schneider movie finally get a proper release???

Terrible picture quality but essential buy for Richard Harris fans
Very poor picture and sound quality as mentioned in previous review. A great shame really as this film is not very well known unlessyou are a fan of the two stars and this disc does nobody any justice.Richard Harris only film as director. He wasn't the original choice but took over when original director left. Lots of sunsets and freeze frames. He is ok in the part of aging footballer facing an uncertain future when he is too old to play on the pitch anymore. Romy Schneider doesn't really have too much to do as his sculpture girlfriend on the way up in the art world. However she does well with what she is given. Kim Burfield is effective in the young fan who idolises the Harris character.The music includes tracks written by Maurice Gibb.
