Inexcusable in this day and age!!!As for the movie: Cary plays a pediatrician who catches the eye of a woman whodecides he is the one for her! She proceeds to find out everythingshe can about him to try to get him to see her as the one for him! RP

I think that those who gave this film poor ratings really missed the point! It's not meant to be taken literally!! The film pokes fun at the Betsy Drake character. That is clearly how I saw it. She is an example of what can go wrong if people behave in the extreme way that she did. It's a warning of what not to do and to think about relationships and how they work and don't work. Here it's done, I believe, deliberately in a zany way to drive the point. I think it's a shame it ended with the way it did--Hollywood always wanted have a happy ending. We all know, and I am pretty certain, the audiences knew back then how absurd Betsy's character is and that women would not follow her behavior and actions. In reality Cary Grant's character would have made the decision he made earlier in the movie and not like he did in the very end! I can only have a good laugh like the audiences did back then. Lighten up everybody!! We live in such a politically correct world! Let it go for a bit, and let yourself be entertained!

As always, a great Cary Grant movie find. Had never heard of this movie before even though we have many of Cary Grant movies which was funny and full of comedy action.

This is a period comedy set in approx. 1950 New York. It is charming, funny and sure to lift your spirits. This one is about a sweet salesgirl at a large department store who dreams of finding a successful, kind, eligible young man who is interested in family life. Enter Cary Grant who is a baby doctor. He gives a talk to young mothers about rearing their children. She is smitten. Him, not so much. He's interested in holding on to his precious bachelorhood and dating several lovely young ladies. Grant is good in all his movies as is his costar Betsy Drake. She goes to great lengths to try to snare him. It is all amusing fun and very politically incorrect! He married Betsy Drake in real life. They also appeared together in "Always Room for One More." They have great chemistry. I enjoy classic movies so I wasn't disappointed! Truly a good movie!!

I was very disappointed in this movie. Even Cary Grant's stellar talent couldn't overcome such a weak script. Betsy Drake had the most prominent role despite the fact that some of her lines were a little ridiculous. The two were far more appealing in their co-starring roles as foster parents in the delightful and heartwarming Room for One More. In that movie, Betsy Drake gives a very memorable performance as an exceedingly gentle, big-hearted woman who is nonetheless strong and sensible. (By the time Room for One More was made, the two had already begun their real-life marriage which would become Cary Grant's longest marriage). If you have a soft spot for adoption-themed movies, I also highly recommend Penny Serenade starring Cary Grant and Irene Dunne with Edgar Buchanan (who may be best known as Uncle Joe who's-a-movin'-kinda-slow in Petticoat Junction).

One of the best Cary Grant movies very cute

As a longtime Cary Grant fan I've been waiting for this film to come out on DVD for years. It's a great feel good film, totally of it's time. Betsy Drake - who was to become Cary Grant's wife decides Cary Grant is husband material, and she goes to great lengths to ensure he comes around to her way of thinking, today you would be worried that she was stalking him! Her behaviour is justified because every girl should be married - all we want is to be wives and mothers!This is a charming film, full of fun, with great performances. Cary Grant is his immaculate self. A great film for a rainy Sunday afternoon.

They don't make movies like this anymore. Such a great film. Perfect Saturday afternoon movie.

I have not played this DVD yet but pleased with next day delivery.
