Easy to install and use, saves forgetting to turn water of when topping up the pond

This is exactly what I want - manually turn it on for minutes and prevent from an accidental pipe burst for hours. Easy to operate and value for money. Not sure how long it will last though.

This product is not fit for purpose. When you attach it to the water tap it leaks. The tap connector is faulty. Amazon can you please supply me with two connectors that fit tightly onto the water tap

Bought this because I liked the Idea not because I really needed it.Firstly, it says max pressure 6 bar, yes well we all know what our water pressure is don't we??? I have quite high water pressure, couldn't tell you if it's above 6 bar but the timer seems to cope so far.secondly, I have noticed that the timer doesn't always work as I put it on for 15 mins and an hour later it was still going, I found I had to give the mechanism a bit of encouragement to get the timer working (by encouragement I mean a gentle twist of the dial till I heard ticking). This may be a result of my water pressure??Despite its little glitch it's a handy little gadget.

The device connects to a 3/4 inch garden tap ... or is supposed to. The thread on the device is malformed and it is impossible to get it on far enough to make a seal with the washer. The result is that when you turn on the water it leaks everywhere. The 3/4 inch thread is actually an adapter to a 1 inch thread on the body of the device - see photo. I found another adapter in the garden shed and it worked without leaking. You get the correct adapter with a Hozelock 1 inch tap adapter (SKU: 2158) or Amazon sell a Gardena adapter for £2.99. Since the supplied adapter does go some way onto the tap, an alternative might be to pack out the adapter with additional washers to make a seal. Once you have got over the trauma of the connection, the device does actually seem to work quite well. The only complaint I would have is that it is not clear that you can reduce the watering time, for example if you set it to 120 minutes, trying to reduce the time to, say, 60 minutes is difficult and it feels like you might break it.

I had to replace the first one I bought. I wanted to give it another chance. Its easy to install, easy to use and it does enough for what I need, but the first one broke after only a few uses.The item works in a similar way to those spring loaded egg timers, which work most of the time.If this one fails, I will get my money back.
