Finetec GmbH has produced high-quality Pearl Colors since 2005 –handmade in a Germany-based family business – using only the best ingredients. Finetec GmbH Pearl Colors can be dissolved with water and a brush just like watercolors and are perfectly suited for calligraphy, painting or hobby. Tip: for the perfect result we recommend putting some drops of water on the color and letting it sit for a few minutes before using it. Pearl Colors are made of Mica-Pigments and Gum Arabic, they are completely free of animal ingredients. Paint contains no filler materials which allows the pigments to shine in their full brilliance. The ingredients used for the production of these Pearl Colors are sourced from reputable German manufacturers. Mica is a product made of minerals. These pigments are known to be very light-fast and they don’t oxidize. Gum arabic is a natural product made of the hardened sap of the acacia tree.

Three and a half stars?
Although I do find these paints to be overall enjoyable to use, I really wish that the seller had included more pictures because it's a little misleading. To start, the metallic shifts on these are CRAZY saturated. Seriously, the colors are borderline neon---which is cool, but I was hoping for something a little less punchy. That's mostly personal preference though so I won't necessarily let that affect my overall review. The real problem that I have with these is that they have a pretty intense discoloration effect on whatever surface you're applying it to. On white paper, the discoloration also happens to be the exact color wheel opposite of the metallic shift---which makes it kind of difficult to use for art considering the fact that you can only see the glitter from specific angles of light. The only one that I would feel comfortable using just straight on top of the paper is the silver.Because of that, I've found that they definitely look best when used as a topper for other colors (which I was honestly expecting when I bought them). They layer really well over darker surfaces like on the sharpie swatches I shared but do have a sort of grey discoloration from some angles, so just be aware of that before buying them. So basically to summarize, I've pretty much found that I prefer these in very light dustings to avoid the discoloration but still get a hint of the lovely glitter shift.Overall the paints themselves feel fairly good to use. You can get them to be pretty saturated if you want, or water them down for a nice glittery effect. They mix really well with each other and layer on top of other things very nicely. The glitter doesn't transfer or rub off once the paints are dry (which is awesome) and I can tell that they won't fade on paper for a good long while. Also I know that some people look to these for calligraphy and I don't think I would recommend that considering how strange these can look when fully saturated.I will say that the packaging is like REALLY cheap---like worse than crayola. I don't really have a problem with it since the packaging has almost nothing to do with the actual product, but considering these paints are almost five dollars a pan, it's kind of ridiculous that it comes in dollar store grade plastic. I won't lie, it definitely lowers the experience of using such a high end product. However, since it's only packaging I'm not actually going to let that change my opinions on the product.

Pretty.
Super pretty. Nice and smooth feeling when dried. Will be slightly discolored in comparison to pure white paper. Not too bad though.

Fantastic shimmering Iridescent watercolors with high pigmentation. I highly recommend!
Fantastic shimmering Iridescent watercolors with high pigmentation. I highly recommend! I attached my swatches on 140lb white and black cold pressed watercolor papers. I included two different lighting views of each because they have multiple color facets. One thing to note is the Blue Pearl and Green Pearl have a chalky appearance if painted too thickly.

Genau das, was ich jahrelang gesucht hab ...
The media could not be loaded.
