Good stuff!
Well, I finally made a portion of natto. NOT bad at all. Took only 3 hours to process. When I got ready to plate it, I added a few drops of sesame oil and a few dots of yellow mustard. SO delicious. It calms my gut and gives me a bit of protein too. I top my basmati rice with it. It has the distinctive fermented smell, gooey sticky texture, and is almost as good as the frozen from the Japanese store. Would like to see this brand sell freeze dried natto to use like furikake and freeze dried natto powder for the same use. I like this item for daily consumption either on hot rice, possibly a folded nori sandwich, or mixed in a salad kit, or in a veggie or lactose ovo sandwich with homemade sprouts.

No smell, no tang. Good to try
I love love love natto, but it's hard for me to get natto. The nearest grocery store with it is miles away and they don't even always carry it even then. I bought this to try since if I could get it delivered and stored like this it would be very convenient. I think this is good if you don't really like natto all too much and you're just trying to get the health benefits. There is barely any smell, no slime, and the tangy bite I love most from natto isn't there. They're a tasty snack though, crunchy and healthy for you so if you're interested but scared of the real stuff this could be good. The back also has a recommendation for rehydrating the natto. I have to tell you, do NOT do this!!! It just turns into a soggy slimy bland mess since its missing the primary natto taste.

The cotton candy of the natto world
This was the first natto I tried, and I thought it was thoroughly disgusting in ways that defy description in the English language. But, no choice; I'm taking it for the mk7 because I have abnormal, extremely early onset osteoporosis, and I'm under orders to get all the "bone" vitamins from food sources on top of the mountainous piles of supplements I'm also taking. So I landed on just grabbing a couple handfuls straight out of the bag and chomping on it dry just to get it down every day. Now, while that description might sound like it wouldn't quite warrant this five-star review... hear me out. Because I recently purchased a different brand of batto that was larger, for a better price. Natto is natto, right? NATTO SO FAST. When the new bag arrived, I performed my now-usual osteoporotic self-flagellative routine and grabbed a handful, popped it in my mouth, started chewing, and.... gagged it right back out. It was... it was... I can't even describe how it was. Ick. ICK. How can natto, which is already indescribably bad, be made indescribably worse?? However that is, the cheaper natto brand figured out how to do it. I can only speculate, such as wondering if they perhaps fermented THEIR natto in cat urine in an effort to improve the taste, but the attempt sadly backfired and made a bad thing worse. Downside: Wasted money on that other natto, and natto ain't cheap. Upside: Made THIS brand of natto taste like carnival cotton candy by comparison and I'm sorry I wasn't appropriately appreciative before. I've left the other bag of natto sitting next to it on the counter so every time I grab this one, I'm reminded to be grateful as I choke it down.

Not enough in one serving.
This serving size is 7 grams of the soybeans added with water to cover. It only makes about 25 to 30 grams of natto. Every serving size I have seen said that the serving size is between 50 g to 100 g daily. I bought dried soy beans and the starter and Iโm going to make it myself.

Good mild flavor and pleasing texture.
These are really different from what I was expecting but still pleasing. Products like this used to be a lot denser and required a bit more chewing. The way these are freeze dried makes them like tiny slightly dense puffed rice. Flavor is spot on for natto, maybe a bit mild. So if you are looking for the super funky natto flavor, you probably need to stick with fresh/frozen, but if you just want a reminder in a quick dry stock handful, this is your ticket!
