Drip system doesn't work but solid construction for starting seeds
I thought this little makeshift drip irrigation system was interesting in concept. Unfortunately, it just doesnt work. The advertised premise is that a drip bottle releases water into a channel that spans the length of the greenhouse. That channel has 8 branches the hover above the plants. Short lengths of string are fed through the holes in those branches to drip water into each plant pot.In reality, the water bottle doesnt drip, it pours which sends a rapid flow of water down the center channel, which isn't level. resulting in some plants being instantly flooded and others receiving no water. I stuffed some paper towels into the base of the bottle to slow the water, which worked a little but the leveling issue of the channel was still an issue. I suppose if you took the time to level the channel and found a good way to control the water's flow rate, it COULD work...but you much more likely to say screw it and just manually water them. The greenhouse itself it made out of nice, solid plastic components. It doesn't retain humidity to the level of a true greenhouse, but when placed by a window, it must retain heat because just after a week 7 of the 8 different seeds have sprouted. The seeds were well packaged, but are labeled in Chinese so unless you are a botanist, you may not be able to tell what is what. Among the seeds are Chili, Lettuce, Spinach, Sunflower, Red Turnip (I believe) and a few kinds of flowers....one of which translated as "Chicken Feather" which honestly I don't know is an actual flower name or bad translation. It's a nice set for a small indoor plant starter. Sadly the greenhouse is about all it's good for with the totally flawed watering system that is advertised.
