Works well and looks great
I really like this clock. I got it to put on my desk, and (believe it or not) was more interested in the date feature than the time. It is handy to see the big day of the week and date right there in front of me. Clock appears to be accurate, although it is easy enough to set if it drifts off by more than a minute or two.I am powering it through an AC adaptor so the clock stays on and it's plenty bright. THe cable that comes with it has a straight connector on it which prevents tucking the clock back. I found a 5V power adapter from an unused USB hub and I am using that, so I can push the clock further back. All in all, I am very happy with the clock in terms of functionality and appearance and recommend it to others.

The directions are usable if poorly translated and it is pretty. If you want a clock by your computer ...
It does not work with batteries. It drains them in one day. Apparently, it only works with the USB plug. I haven't tried that yet because I don't need a clock by my computer. Computers HAVE CLOCKS. What's the point of this power supply? The directions claim that it's not compatible with all batteries and to try different batteries and that will fix the problem. Well, let me tell you what batteries this is not compatible with: Duracell, Energizer, and Amazon Basics. So what are these batteries it is supposedly compatible with? The directions are usable if poorly translated and it is pretty. If you want a clock by your computer or to buy an extension cord with a USB outlet, then maybe this clock is for you. I'm out 12 batteries and am having to look at buying a $15 extension cord to use a $24 clock.

we're pleased with this purchase
Overall, we're pleased with this purchase. Just a couple of considerations:1.) we *did not* get an a/c power adapter with this one, so to use that feature will require an additional purchase. Shouldn't the Package Content list: "1 x alarm clock USB charger" be "charging cable" instead?2.) the USB cable included (that goes to an adapter or USB power source) is on the short side for our purposes (use in an entertainment center). * note: the USB cable is product specific, as the end that plugs into the back of the clock is not a USB mini plug; rather, it's like a lot of regular/older power adapters, a very small round pin plug type3.) the Date display is a bit wanky. From across our room, the numbers pretty much run together, as you can't really see the dots between each set of numerals. For our two cents worth, they should have done something like reduce the Day size (see point 4) and put the year in the middle of the 3 lines (using "2018" rather than "18"); it just so happened that we set ours up on the 18th of Jan, 2018, so it had: 18.01.184.) the display sections in the product image don't quite accurately represent our unit, particularly the Day (e.g. FRI) display; it looks larger on our's (or it's just a tad too large overall; see point 3).5.) the temperature sensor *seems* a couple of degrees higher than actual? at least compared to two other temp sensing devices we also have in the same room (a gas logs remote and a room thermostat) [the temp display is optional, so we just turned ours off]6.) the lowest brightness could still be a bit darker for our tastes, but we don't anticipate that over the long run, it'll be that much of a negative/distraction.On the more positive side:1.) we like the size and look of the unit; the black color blends in nicely for us in using it on a entertainment center shelf (replacing the old retired VCR clock used prior); the wood finish is pretty convincing, and the slanted shape allows for lower placement of it on our stand.2.) we like the dual power capability ie. battery backupNeutrals:1. we haven't tested the 3 Alarm options, nor the Voice mode, as we don't have a need for those features. With a reminder regarding it not coming with a power adapter, and our only just putting it in service noted, we'd probably purchase it again (depending of course, on how it holds up over time...). [can't really comment on seller, as it was ordered with 12 other items, and shipped with 6 others from that]

Buy it if you want USB or battery only
Sorry, but I am giving it 2 stars because I missed the USB ONLY in the description. Who takes a clock and hook it up to a USB port? Dumb. And it takes 4 AA batteries. How quickly will those zap down?

Very novel idea and an awesome clock!
This clock is AWESOME! I had no idea wooden clocks like this existed and had to buy one as soon as I saw it! It’s a very neat idea and looks great! It appears to be all one piece of wood with the clock hardware inside and the front etched on the inside for the numbers. Programming it isn’t bad and it runs very long on battery life. My only wish is that it came in a larger size!

TOTALLY FUNCTIONAL AND QUITE STYLISH
Likes -- the design, the ability to have it display continuously or only on demand, the choices of units, multiple alarms, etc.Dislike -- requires one of those little usb/ac transformers, like for a cell phone. (But these are easily available, and we had an extra one lying around.)Overall, very nice product.
