Very nice
Well-made piece of hardware, I actually was solid brass, and they included some silicone O-rings, which helped make an airtight seal.I would, and already have recommend this product.

Secure, clean connection—For the right hose.
I bought this to use with a TeeJet 6466 sprayer handle on my ATV-mounted spraying rig. I hate hose clamps for things that I have to handle. Not only do they catch on everything, but half the time I end up with pesticide leaks all over my hands. The Solo backpack sprayers use a kind of compression fitting that is not only secure and watertight, but completely smooth. It's a bit bulky, though, as it uses a 3/4" GHT (garden hose) fitting. I have looked long and hard for a compression fitting that I can use with my spray handles, so that I can get rid of hose clamps. Most fittings require multiple parts, and you're on your own where dimensions are concerned. This compression fitting has only two parts (most have at least four), and is much less bulky.HOWEVER: This fitting is tight enough that it will only work with a certain thickness of hose. It will not work with rubber hose, or PVC air hose, as they are too thick, making it impossible to work the nut over them. As it happens, it works perfectly with the 3/8" braided hose from Sprayer Depot. The picture on the Sprayer Depot website makes the hose look chunkier than it actually is. It's rated for 225PSI, and I rarely spray over 60PSI, so it should serve my needs very well. When assembling it, make sure that the hose is cut perfectly square, and sticking out past the end of the nut, so that the hose seats completely to the bottom of the barb, before the nut tightens down. I suspect that people who complained about it coming apart either had VERY thin hose, or did not get the hose all the way onto the barb. I cannot see how this could come apart, otherwise. The kit comes with a couple of pieces of Teflon tape, which is rather silly, as that is easily obtained almost anywhere (and most people doing plumbing work already have at least a few spools of it sitting around.) But I suppose if you're in an area of the world where Teflon tape is a rare commodity, this could be a useful addition.

Hard to install.
The barb inserted into the hose fine. The outer sleeve was very tight. I almost gave up but finally got it threaded on.

Doesn’t fit Goodyear 3/8” air hose.
Look nicely made. They do not fit rubber Goodyear hose. Not big enough. Maybe cheap fit cheap rubber hose. Had to use other fittings.

Hard it install, but fantastic adapters!
I bought these because it seemed to have a much better ID than the trash connectors that came on my 1/4" polyurethane hose from Amazon. Turns out it does, I put my calipers on it and its not 1/4" ID but its close. So putting this on 1/4" polyurethane hose is freaking hard. I had my adapter in a vice, heated the hose with a heat gun and then used vice grips on the lock down nut and barely got it to start threading in, after minutes of trying and more heat and silicone lube. Then it sucks down fine and will never come apart. They are 100% brass, which is good to know. For the second adapter I took a very small step bit and bored out the leading edge of the hole on the lock down nut so it would allow it to slide up and grab threads just a little before really snuggung down on the hose. Turns out it was still really hard to install with my hands(couldn't get to my vice in this position), and I could have bored it some more. But I finally got it on.Combine these with Milton type M fittings everywhere and you have a very small OD, light weight hose with enough CFM for nearly any air tool. I love it!
