Tasty New Food for Parrots
My many parrots adore the larger size Oven Fresh Bites so I wanted to try it on the little birds. The cockatiels haven't caught on yet but the small conures learned that these taste like cookies! yum! The size of the Small Parrot Oven Fresh Bites are varied. I think that is what is throwing off the cockatiels. However, they will eventually get the hang of it. I can always get them interested if I sprinkle it on a fresh paper on the floor of the cage. Cockatiels love to forage for food on the paper. You might also try to crush the chunks a little more by rolling over them with a rolling pin or can. Make sure the paper is clear of poop and then pick it up after the initial exploration. Great ingredients and healthy food!

I purchase these for an older picky umbrella cockatoo. She was raised on sunflower seeds, because of that it’s been difficult to have her eat a healthier diet. These are the only pellets I can get her to eat a bit of. Most of my other birds consider these a treat.

Great for My Umbrella Cockatoo
I bought this for my daughter's Yellow Sided Conure and my wife's Red Sided Eclectus Parrot. I also bought the Medium Parrot size at the same time for my Umbrella Cockatoo, Buddy. Buddy is a VERY picky eater and has refused all other pellets. The Conure and Eclectus eat this but they eat other foods as well, so I wasn't quite so concerned with their diet. Since Buddy will not eat any other pellet and prefers sunflower and peanuts I needed something better for him. He immediately took to the Medium Parrot size and it is now his primary diet with some seed as 'desert' or treat. The problem with the Medium Parrot size for Buddy is waste. The way he nibbles at his food the Medium Parrot size ends up crumbling with quite a bit of waste. The Small Parrot size is the exact same ingredients and dietary analysis as the Medium Parrot, but they are essentially already crumbled pellets. This smaller size actually works well for the way Buddy likes to nibble his food - he gets more of it in him and less on the floor and bottom of his cage. I'll be buying the Small Parrot size from now on.

Very disappointed in large crumble size
This bag has a picture of a cockatiel on it, but these crumbles are way too large for my older cockatiel. Smells good, tastes good (I tasted it), but she wouldn't have anything to do with them. I've tried the mini food processor, a rolling pin, and my zyliss chopper, but they don't break up easily, and my wish for a healthy, easy-to-use food and snack has been totally dashed. They are a lot of work to get to a true small size, and she is her usual resistant self re: trying something new. This size issue could be solved much more easily in the manufacturing facility than it is being solved (unsatisfactorily, so far) by me,
