Thin Book with Thick Messages
This book is THIN, not the superbulky yoga posture books with fancy pictures and long step by step details. Yet the sequence of postures contain, what I believe, very traditional and perhaps ancient routines for forming a yoga sequence. The hand illustrated pictures can sometimes be difficult to decipher (for example I don't really know whether to move my body in circles or from side to side), but if you've taken yoga classes already, you can combine what you've learned with the instructions in the book.I got this book because I love The Autobiography of a Yogi and I respect Yogananda's reverence for his guru's guru's guru Babaji. I do believe the simplicity of this book enhances its authenticity. Because it is thin and light, it is also an easy travel companion. And I believe this book is a good source for those who want to explore different yoga sequences and the meaning of each sequence, to enhance what they learn from their respective yoga teachers. I don't recommend using this book as a sole source of yoga teaching, you still need a good teacher to make sure you are doing the postures correctly. But it is an nice accompaniment.

Wish I had this long ago!
Practical - to use in daily practice till remember the 18-sequence. Compact - no space needed to store in my locker. Well written - enjoy the concise and to-the-point discourse. Illustrations - sufficient reminder, after having real life instructors or video of the 18. Modest - the way yoga should be. Language - precise, no unnecessary exaggerations. Ideal - for self motivated practitioners. And much more, but the above should give an idea. Originally, I thought it was a single page flash card or mini poster. So I thought, I will draw much better my self. I was simply deceived by the caver. Till I saw in a class a real copy and realized must have it. Thank you Satchidananda! Om Kriya Babaji Namaa Aum..

Yoga!!!
This book is one of my favorites...this entity lives and breathes, one just has to believe and look at ourselves as the same...love, kindness and compassion for others and movements to obtain health and balance...

Acceptable at this price
Great reference guide. Delivery was prompt. Book was pretty much chewed up. Profusely annotated with notes (some actually quite useful). Some mold , decomposition (possibly due to rodents) and staining on the pages (looks like food or beverages). Otherwise O.K.

The Meeting of the Paths of East and West
This easy to read book with great illustrations outlines a blessed path of yoga, in an appropriate sequence for the exercise of the physical body and the interaction of the spiritual bodies and the chakras. It is a divine movement for the release of LIGHT!!! After practicing daily, I feel a joy that helps me bear the stress of daily life and my personal burdens. We also know that Babaji is a true master and not a false teacher so we can be confident that these asanas were given for our benefit and spiritual enlightenment. This is a jewel of a book but you must put it into action.

Harder than I thought
After reading some of the reviews I thought the postures would be easy they are not. That is not to say they are in any way impossible or not effective. Some of these people reviewing must be very good, but for someone just starting out they are quite the challenge.I am glad I bought this and would do so again.

Innocently think booklet, is what makes it so useful and practical.
Such innocent thin booklet, quickly become my neighboring companion every morning commencing my Hatha exercises. Super recommended, because it basically sums up hundred page Hatha book into small 20 page booklet, and turns Hatha into "Let's get going...".

Exactly what I wanted...
Simple, clear, and to the point. Not an Americanized "stretch" book, this book was exactly what I was searching for. Yoga is union, not just stretching.
