Flame Boss Pit Probe with Coated Cable

Old temperature probes had stopped working so I needed new one. I don't like the metal mesh covers of the originals because they kink and tangle really badly. These are much better and work perfectly so back to smoking.

I have gone through two of these things and fixin to buy my third. My experience, over the last few years of using my Flame Boss is that the probes are good, but if the temp goes up over 4-500F, you pretty much fry the probe and they’re next to worthless. My second one crapped out on my second cook, when I had my Kamado Joe go to about 500. Now, maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t. If it is working, if I open the lid of my Joe to spritz ribs or something, it stops working. Then maybe it’ll start working in another 30-40 minutes. Maybe. I wish I could buy a different probe.

Product worked fine 5 times and then broke! What a poorly made product. I went to Amazon to return this item and the seller makes me pay the return shipping, and a restocking fee... it's unclear if they will replace this item at no charge, but if they do NOT, I will for sure being leaving another review here are well as on social media about the quality of this product being terrible, and also the bad customer service that they do not stand by any assurance the product will work. Welp, here's to hoping they will just replace it but that's unclear to me. Stinks it broke so quickly.

New material is easy to clean and I really like the water resistance

4 stars because my old one broke so fast after less than a year and only 6 times cooking...

Original probe lasted quite awhile, but finally died. Time to replace it and have a spare as well.
