Miranda - Series 1-2 [DVD]

Harmless fun and sometimes genuinely laugh-out-loud
I like this program. It's a little formulaic - each character's punchline or identifying phrase is established early on and continues throughout both series, and the slapstick moments are rather predictable (Miranda falling over every time she tries to leave a room, for example), but the foresight somehow adds to the effect rather than detracting from it. I am not certain if this would be the same should it continue in the next series and beyond, but so far, so good.It is also refreshing to watch something in which the humour is genuinely inoffensive, and is more silly and cooky than anything, without descending into the absurd (or at least, it only dip its toes). It will be a while before I watch them again - there is nothing more to learn from a re-watch, but the series doesn't pretend to be clever - but I am pretty certain that I will eventually.

Love it!
I used to find this show cringeworthy, and couldn't manage to watch more than 2 or 3 minutes of it. Thank you to 'Call the Midwife' for making me realise what a fine actress Miranda Hart actually is. :-)I stumbled back across the very first episode of Miranda on UK Gold a few weeks ago and sat there crying with laughter. I had to buy this to get as much Miranda inside me as possible (looks at camera and says "Naughty.") It's brilliant. The only thing that still makes me want to punch the screen is Stevie doing her impression of Heather Small. Yes it was funny once, but do we really need it in every single episode?Long may it continue.

Good British comedy
I brought this for my niece who loves Miranda. Its one of those series you either love or hate. I don't personally find it particularly brilliant but it is a proper British comedy with a very good actress taking the lead that so many can probably relate to. My niece is very happy with it and watches it quite a lot, so a worthwhile buy definitely.

BRILLIANT!!
was a bit dubious at first as the beginning of the c.d was 'jumpy' and the pixels were going funny. but persevered and was in hysterics for the rest of the evening!!! miranda is fantastic!!such a brilliant change to be able to watch a really good comedy (nearly all in one night)!! without the blessed pointless and annoying adverts all the way through !!thoroughly hilarious and all actors and actresses involved need medals!!!thank you miranda!!!

Thrillywots!
This is the funniest woman on the telly! I absolutely love Miranda Hart and her series is comedy genius. Yes some might say it's predictable but it's non-offensive humour that the whole family will enjoy. I have watched each episode numerous times and I can still honestly say, they are still hilarious!! Each episode is 30 mins long so great if you want a quick pick-me up (although, once you watch one, you just have to watch the rest!).

Love It, Love It, Love It
I just love Miranda. I know she's not to everyone's taste, but I just love her. She is just hilarious. I think I tend to identify with her because I'm a little like her, if anything can go wrong, it will do.Some people find the talking to the camera ridiculas, but to me it just adds charm to the character.Great acting from all the cast, and yes I still can't get over the fact it has Dave Lamb (from Come Dine With Me) acting in it in one of the episodes. See if you can spot him.Well worth the money.
