Q: Does this reduce dust as well? I live in Phoenix and the dust is awful.

It has significantly reduced the dust in our daughter's bedroom, which is about 10 x 13 feet. Keeping up with cleaning the filter helps keep the dust removal consistent.

The manufacturer recommends this model for a 160 square foot room; if your room has particularly high ceilings, the coverage area might be a bit smaller. Measuring the area of your room should give you the most accurate number of units to keep your air clean. That said, I'd also recommend consulting your allergist; they may be able to give you better guidance for air purifiers to meet your needs.

Q: anyone running this 24 hours a day?

Mine has been running on medium 24 hours a day since the first week in June 2014, it's only been turned off once a month for 10 minutes to vacuum out the filter. Runs like a champ!
