I bought this for my housemate and am really glad I did, because she's been producing wonderful food using its recipes. The cheese soup has become a house party staple, and there are a lot more we're just waiting to have time to try out. It's well written and nicely presented, and there's enough recipes to give a good variety without being overwhelming. The snippets of background information are fun too, and knowing a little bit about the food makes cooking and eating even more enjoyable.I'd recommend this to anyone with or without a prior interest in the Netherlands, because Dutch cuisine is very accessible to the British palate but not very well known, so it's a good opportunity to try out something new without going completely off the wall.

Really good recipes I will try very good condition and good price

Bought this book as I want change my stereotype that the Dutch don't/can't cook. I was surprised to see many recipes and yet wonder why my Dutch friends only prepare sandwiches and stamppot. Anyway, the book has a nice history about Netherlands and its culture which was entertaining to read. I'm looking forward to prepare some of the dishes and desserts (especially the oliebollen)

This is an excellent book for many reasons, not least because of it's size which makes it ideal for anyone working in a small kitchen. Well illustrated with short chapters on the Netherlands and it's gastronomic history and cooking it introduces the readers to salads soups, stews,deserts, pies and a wealth of other dishes to satisfy all palates. Settle down to a lazy evening with a Heavenly Mud (Hemelse modder)and raise a glass of Country lads and girls to toast Janny de Moor, the author.

Good service good book, especially if you are missing croquettes

Bought as a birthday present for my son. What a great book and fantastic ingredients! We have lost the art to our natural field ingredients so this book is a great re-introduction to natural food substances.

This book takes me on a trip down memory lane. Not nouveau cuisine but straight from a kitchen with Delft blue tiles. Fuel for family and friends.

If I liked fish I would've given it a five, I know I'm sly but it's true.However this book is a nice read especially when your home in the UK and want to be in the Netherlands... Let's say its a lovely book and detailed.:)

Beautiful Cookbook with easy to follow recipes and lovely photos of what the dish should look like.I purchased this one for my future niece-in-law's bridal shower, together with a Polish Cookbook. With the meshing of the two ethnic backgrounds, both traditions in delicious meals will be carried on.Highly recommend!

Great book. My favorite recipes that my Mom used to cook by memory. My mother passed away in August 2019. Very happy with this book. Not complicated. Easy & Delicious.
