Veere Grenney: Seeking Beauty

Best interior design book ever!!!
Veered Greeney has given us a stunning viewpoint intended on delighting and entertaining the reader!!! His interiors are simple, approachable, intricate, and most importantly; he makes us feel as though we can attain the same level of beauty he pulls out of everyday items. Never has a designer made me believe that I can do the same as he, while still staying on budget! Veery Greeney makes me feel this way, and he will you too... The photos are timeless and perfect. Every single piece of Indian/Syrian bone inlay furniture is more breathtaking than the one before and the fabrics are luxurious, soft, and have the most gorgeous patterns while paying special attention to the colorways. I have never been more excited to receive a book. It may have been due to the Quintessence episode I had just seen starring Veere and his stunning Colonial manor in Tangier... His approach to life is absolutely refreshing. It is beautiful to hear someone speak about the simplicity of entertaining, while keeping things casual, remembering what's important-your guest. The home is the backdrop to the play of each of our lives.... Besides Cathy Kincaid-no one has made me have an actual visceral reaction to their interiors, making my heart skip a beat. Welcome into my life Veere!!!! This is the beginning of a long, important, and very relevant important relationships in my life!!! 5 🌟 🤩 ⭐️ 🌠 💫 across the board!!!!!

Fabulous book!
This is a gorgeous book—a new favorite! The book showcases several homes Veere Grenney has lived in and decorated and includes an additional section on his gardens in Tangier. The decor is stunning—beautiful and comfortable and yet not pretentious. I highly recommend this book.

Too much filler
In order to stretch just four properties and fill 300 pages, multiple images of rooms essentially repeat the same scene from slightly different angles. There are too many full page photos of vases filled with flowers, garden views which are not always special in any way, vignettes and close ups which are often ordinary. The photographer appears to have been instructed to fill up as many pages as possible with too little subject matter.

Wonderful book to give as a gift
The book features spectacular photos making it fun to flip through. But if you get the chance, read the first couple of pages and get pulled into Veere's story. A child growing up in New Zealand who sought all the English publications he could get his hands on, much like Mick Jagger and Kieth Richards, yearned for R&B recordings from across the Atlantic. This book is about his journey, his life's work and a vision realized. As Veere describes it, "My three homes most eloquently tell the story of who I am, my philosophy, what I have endeavored to achieve, and the lessons that I've absorbed over the years."

Spectacular! Visual feast!
I have V. Gs other book and I have to say, "both are wonderful but this one is a feast"! Every single page and nearly word is inspirational - even spiritual! Love it.

‘Let the beauty of what you love be what you do’ - Rumi
And how two of the three properties here are a testament to that! ‘Come the property come the man’ might be an equally appropriate accolade - for what you see here are the results of Grenney’s lifelong journey in style, tradition and refined taste; applied with unrestrained imagination to two gorgeous properties that are the epitome this man’s love for his home environment. The only disappointment is his most recent acquisition - a very small flat in London whose hallmark chintz wallpaper serves only to make it seem smaller and more cramped still. I guess chintz needs space…..A couple of recommendations for those who wish to explore further: there are some excellent videos of both the Suffolk and Tangiers properties on YouTube in which Grenney explains the history and design approach for each. And I would heartily recommend another tome: ‘Inside Tangier’, which features other predominantly Westerner owned properties in the same area - all of them as individualistic as their owners. Time to dream…..

Loving This Book
This book is full of magnificent images of Veer’s homes. Veer’s style of decorating is definitely a look which suits me. Very relaxed with comfort and beauty at the fore. Each page contains something to savour, with plenty of tantalising ideas to inspire. All the homes featured are truly sumptuous and I particularly love Gazebo. Everything about this home to me is ‘it’ Its a home one could dream of living in. Not forgetting to mention the fabulous gardens. Just perfect. Beautiful.

Beautifully captivating
This is a stunning photographic journey around Greeney’s three beautiful homes. Like most of these kinds of books there is very little text but the photography is excellent and evocative. I just wish the designers would share more of their vision and inspiration so that we could learn from them rather than just looking at gorgeous photos.
