Very Lightweight!!
Straight out of the box very easy to assemble, I bought a bare unit as I already have a 5ah battery with my Ryobi lawn mower, First use I used it for around 15 minutes and it used very little of the battery capacity only down one bar when I put it on charge to see how much my 5ah battery had depleted. The auto spool I found doesn't work and in all honesty to a point I wouldn't expect it to as it has the same build as any other electric strimmer spool head, but it does have a small button on the spool which you press and more line can be pulled out as required,Overall very impressed it did a great job around lawn edges and fences etc, it's very quiet compared to my old strimmer and of course the sheer simplicity of been cordless make things so much easier.

Good, BUT!
Another cordless tool to add to my Ryobi One+ collection. Bought to edge my lawn, so having a lightweight cordless trimmer is ideal. Works well, and comfortable to use. Easy action to change the head angle. However, and here comes the BUT, this trimmer still seems to suffer the age old problem with the ‘auto feel spool’ system. The wire seemed to be wound too tightly around the spool, hence when its required to be fed out, it would not, and required me to stop and manually re feed the wire from the spool. I have seen that the spool can be changed to the plastic ‘cutters’ (which can also be a pain!) . I will persevere for now though!

Super lightweight battery powered strimmer
Bought to replace a petrol strimmer, as I already had batteries from other Ryobi products, and I’m really impressed, very light and easy to use,and the rotating handle to do all the lawn edges is a real bonus, also the auto line feed works really well, overall, very very pleased with another great product from Ryobi, I’ve found it to be more than powerful enough to tackle all the grass around the garden as well as being able to cut down thick nettles and dock weed.

What a find.
I've used electric (the lead is annoying) and petrol (to much trouble to fill and heavy to use) grass trimmers. I do not have 12" grass or shrubbery to cut and I wanted something easy and quick to use with minimal hassle,This item arrived and at first I thought they had sent an empty box, The grass trimmer is lightweight but very effective and serves all the needs I have. I especially like trimming the grass to flower borders and the result is resounding. All you have to do is hold a button whilst swivelling the bottom section. It is lightweight so is far from a chore. The only negative I have found and it was the same with the electric and petrol trimmers is that it fails to auto feed the line when it gets short. All three that I have mentioned were auto feed but failed to deliver on that fact but please do not let that put you off buying this model as due to its lightweight, it is a doddle to do it manually.I would happily recommend this to anyone who does not have an overgrown grass field.

Strummer
Had this one a few years ago. Very light and sturdy. Although, the replacement spool you have to keep stopping to tighten the string for strumming and sometimes gets twisted. Alit of stops and starts.Saying that it works really well, I mean cuts the grass hedges, bushes. Worth money. Being cordless is so much easier. I did use the plastic pieces instead of spool but they get used very quickly and don’t think they’re worth the money.

Perfect little strimmer
Easy to assemble out of the box. Lightweight even with the battery attached. Made light work of overgrown grass. Very happy with the product and if you have other ryobi products so don't need the battery it's a very reasonable price.

Satisfactory
Light weight easy to use but a little under powered with only one cutting strand compared to most which have 2
