Grandmother's Journal: Memories and Keepsakes for My Grandchild

Given to my grandma for her 90th birthday. We would write down the stories and facts as she told them to us. She said that some of these questions really made her think back, something she hasn't done in a while! There's plenty of space to write and it covers a vast range - from childhood memories, dreams growing up, meeting granddad, wedding, addresses of different residences, children, grandchildren and lots of questions to provoke your memory! :) Highly recommended!!

Saw this and thought it would make an ideal present for my mother in law. I never expected it to be as beautiful and well laid out as it is. Wow! I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived as it is excellent quality, well made with good quality pages. Overall I think it is excellent value for money.

I bought this as a present for a lovely nana, she was very very happy with it and is excited to fill it in. The font is nice and big and lots of lovely questions

I bought two of these, one for a friend who has just recently become a grandmother for the first time and initially I think she thought I was bonkers but as we looked through it and she understood that it was about her, her family tree and her son and her new granddaughter she turned to me and said she loved it. The second one I gave to my Mam, again she gave me a funny look but when she understood what it was about she now plans to fill it in with my daughter who turns 21 this year and they are both looking forward to recording all the details of her family.

This is a lovely book but I am disappointed to realise that it is American and it therefore has a school Memories page that talks about elementary, middle school and high school. The rest of the book is really lovely with great prompts so will probably give it to the planned recipient with a small note of apology.

I think this book is lovely I bought 1 for my sister for christmas I was so happy with it i ordered another 1 to send to my other sister I just know they will love it as much as i do A.lovely thing to leave to your grandchildren A pretty envelope at the back you can put a personal note to your grandchildren Something im sure they will appriciate when they grow old like us

Really adorable lovely book to give to my Gran. I’m 23 and there is still so much I don’t know about my gran, or even if I have asked before its hard to remember so to have it all written down will be a lovely keepsake. I think she will also enjoy remembering her time as a child, teen, having my mum etc whilst filling out this book. It’s also a great size, much bigger than I expected, about A4, meaning the words and space to write is plenty big enough for my gran who is in her 80’s to use. Just disappointed with Amazon delivery, I came home to find the package on full view just leaning against my front door. Anyone could have taken it.

I like everything about this book, my neighbour always saying like to write childhood memories, but where to start. I’m sure this will help her.

I purchased this as a present for my mother and bought the Grandfather’s Journal for my father and they both loved it. A great way to keep their memories and experiences alive.

This book is a fantastic gift idea for a grandmother to complete and pass down. The book is made really well and the questions are spaced out just perfectly with plenty of room to write their answers. It’s definitely a high quality hard bound book. It’s all to fast that the memory starts to fade and this helps to keep the mind active. It’s a great way to share the life story of the ones who are responsible for our being. Highly recommended.

Great book, a bit too American for me

I read the reviews before buying and they were all really good, therefore I went ahead and purchased it for my mother for Mother’s Day for her to give to my daughter one day. It was the perfect gift. The book is gorgeous. The colours are beautiful. The questions are perfect. It is actually better than I thought it would be. It exceeded my expectations. They could have sold this book for two or three times the price. It’s really good quality. I am so happy I bought it!

IN SHORT: if you have young children, hurry up and buy the grandfather/grandmother notebooks! I realized that I didn't know much about my parent's lives as much as I'd like. They always talked to me from a parent to their child, but never truly as they would talk with a close friend. I bought a blank notebook for my father's Christmas few years back, asking him to write down anything he'd like to share with me, stories about his childhood, his first love, his first hungover, how he met my mother, etc. Sure enough, he never wrote in the book. My first born is going to turn 2, and I really wanted to get this information from my parents, so I could share with my children, but also for myself. It turns out, giving an empty notebook was too intimidating for someone who never writes. This is why I love these ones, they are GUIDED. Structure helped my parents write down. I love the illustration, the various categories and the questions being asked.
