Brilliant results but doing your research and following instructions are key!
Why did you choose this product over others?: I used this dye in conjunction with the Rit All-Pupose to dye a pair of black jeans which were very faded. The jeans are 80% cotton, 19% polyester and 1% vacose and before this I had tried the Dylon all-pupose dye for use in a washing machine which did absolutely nothing because as I now know mixed fabrics won't take to all dyes in the same way. So to dye the cotton I got the Rit All-Pupose and to dye the 19% polyester I got this Jacquard iDye Poly. The results I've gotten using both of these together have been fantastic but being aware of what material you are dealing with and following the instructions are cruicial to getting good results, this is probably why some others haven't had good results. To dye polyester you MUST simmer it in boiling water, a washing machine will not work as polyester has to reach a certain temprature to take to the dye. I got a cheap 16L cooking pot to use specifically for this as you should never use it for cooking afterwards. I filled it with water, about 3/4s full as my jeans need room to be able to move freely in the water when stiring later on, and brought to boiling point before adding 1 cup of salt (table salt will do fine, but ignore the instructions of adding vinegar if you are dying plyester), add all the dye and stir then turn the hob down so it's boiling only slightly. Then, I added my jeans. I left it simmering for 1 hour stirring every 3 minutes before removing them and rinsing them under a hot tap until the water runs clear of any ink. It's cruicial you don't take them out of the boiling water and run them under a cold tap as it'll shock the fabric and potentially cause the colour to be uneven. I rinsed my jeans for about 10 minutes under the hot tap with the tap setting on my boilet set to max then reducing it half way towards the end to slowly bring the temprature of the jeans down. After this there was no steam or ink coming off the jeans and were ready to go into the wahsing machine on a cold wash for 30-45 minutes - it must be on a cold wash! Afterwards I allowed them to dry naturally and I was really impressed by the results. Some of what I did such as washing them on a cold wash and bringing the temprature down slowly as to not shock the fabric was not included in the instructions so if you're not dying a mixed fabric similar to mine then I highly recommend doing some research firstas I did! It's a lot of work but worth it in the end.

No Good 👎🏻
Did not work. Super disappointed. The instructions, website AND Reddit users state it's made to dye polyester. I had two garments that were %30 poly and 70% cotton. The polyester parts were mostly coloured threads so expected them to dye no problem but that's not the case. The threads are still bright colours all it did was dye the plastic buttons. Took a lot work, I had to buy a huge steel curry pot to use on the cooker top (I didn't have an old one big enough), stood all day stirring, wearing rubber gloves and ringing in the sink and cleaning the kitchen up after for nothing. The cotton parts were pre dyed black(ish) from my previous attempt with dylon machine dye but even then it didn't get any darker so it wasn't worth it at all. The white cotton parts didn't even get darker! The water was boiling hot all day so I'm sure I followed the guide properly. Ahhh! **SIGH*

Follow directions and watch the smell
I used this on an old Dickies work shirt to get it back to black. It's a pain to work with, you need a really big pot and it smells bad... Really bad. That being said the shirt is a rich black that's held up well to weekly washes.

A Dye for Polyester & Nylon - AAA Recommended Buy
A fantastic dye, specifically for polyester, nylon & polyester/cotton blends. Please note that this is NOT a dye for the washing machine. It requires boiling water and simmering for up to one hour. One packet of the dye is sufficient for up to 3 lbs / 1.3 kg of dry fabric. AAA recommended buy.

It did dye the piece of clothing
As it requires you to boil whatever you want to dye, it isn't really that easy, unless you're a witch with a cauldron! I am not, so had to opt for boiling hot water in my sink. I had a baby pink shirt that I wanted to dye black, however, it only managed to dye it a dark lavender, which I actually quite like 👍 So, although I am pleased with the end result, I probably wouldn't purchase again

just follow the instructions
worked perfectly, although I combined it with Rit Dye to be sure it would work. 1st picture is the before, 2nd picture is the after. I am delighted with the result and it was really easy to do.

Beware!
Beware! Had to follow the instructions of one of the other reviewers to get my garment properly dyed. However, even after about 5 washes, the dye is still seeping and staining my leather seats. Which has meant I’ve then had the issue of repairing/repainting the seats to cover up the dye (detergents, bleach and other cleaning materials did not work to remove the dye fully). So the dye will work ok synthetic materials but has the danger of the dyed clothing staining other surfaces it comes into contact with. Solves one problem but causes another.

Does not work on parasol material.
Does not work on parasol material. I have followed the instruction. The dye has only slightly tinted the material rather than full colour.

I only use silk and/or satin pillowcases. Unfortunately, a blue pen went through the wash, and my light coloured pillowcases were ruined. Or so I thought. One packet of this dye was sufficient for me to dye eight pillowcases, and they all came out very very black – which is what I wanted.

This is incredible! Nearly fully restored my 100% polyester patio furniture. I say nearly because it could be a little darker, which is more obvious when you look underneath (but the important part is the surface so no big deal). I followed the instructions very carefully as others have suggested - pre-wet material, stir constantly for 30 mins to 1 hour - supposedly the longer you go the deeper the color, so I went to 55 minutes before my arms were completely exhausted as I needed it to get really dark. I bought a cheap 12qt stainless steel pot. You do need to be careful of the splash zone since you need it at a rolling boil the whole time, I’ve got a white tiling on my backsplash and didn’t think about it and it was too late to protect - the first splash left a few spots in the grout (the actual glossy tile was easy to wipe off), so be careful.
