it has 6 channels,what happens to the 7th person who uses another U4 ? what channel do he select than? and same goes to next user and so on.

Well since there are only 6 channels, the 7th person would be on the same channel as another user meaning they would get the same feed. This is not a bad thing if you have several people that want the same feed. In our team, we go 6 on wireless and the drummer is wired since he does not move. If you truly need more than 6 separate feeds, this may not be the system for you.

Does it work while it is charging? planning to use at a church and install the transmitter up front with the snake and just connect to a usb charger.

We have 3 of these and they work great. All 3 transmitters are on constant 24/7 charging. We do separate them about 10 feet apart with additional XLR cables from our stage box just to make sure the 3 signals don't get interference from each other. We use a Wing mixer and member has Wing-Q loaded on their phones so they can adjust their individual mix. They work and sound great!
