Vintage Reclaimed Fir Wood Storage Trunk – Rustic Charm with Black Metal Accents – No Assembly Required, Optional Wheels Included

Thay sent the trunk out promptly and it arrived in 3 days. The listing said it would weigh about 62 pounds but it felt lighter when the package was brought to my bedroom. Easy to open and set up, couldn't be simpler. The packaging was steller, great protection for the trunk. The trunk is a lovely medium brown and the black hardware looks good on it. Very sturdy. Excellent price for the amount of room it has inside. I used it to store antique clothing from my great grandmother, first I put in a sheet, then the acid free tissue paper. Perfect solution. Works perfectly.

Great quality! I was just disappointed that it was not the color wood displayed in the picture. I really wanted the natural wood color. It was stained. It is not the color in the pic under natural wood.

The media could not be loaded. Smells like cut fir or cedar wood out of the box. Nice color, not too heavy to move. The stud details are nice.Don't be confused by the ventilation holes when installing the wheel casters, because I was. I saw them and totally overlooked the actual threaded screw holes, which I've included pictures and video of so no one else has to feel like an idiot when the instructions only have 3 steps and you don't get it because there's no picture of the bottom. Lol!

The metal straps, corners and hardware are all factory finish perfect jet black. That would be fine if it were not a distressed piece. But in this context it makes the whole thing look weird and contrived. But 15-20 minutes of lightly adding patina with some 500 to 1000 grit sandpaper helped quite a bit and now it looks awesome. I also ordered some feet, as the wheels are too tall in my opinion, but flat on the ground doesn’t look right either.

If I were to make one change in the manufacturing of this product I definitely would've used rod iron steel straps, I would not mind paying more for this chest. The part of looking and belonging in a log cabin environment what is most important to me?across the top to give it that authentic block, looks too thick with the straps they put on. Casters are beautiful I don't know why they skipped on the straps. Being lightweight was not an important factor, looking the part of being a log cabin environment what is most important to me?
