OptexWireless 2000 Door/Window (Contact) Transmitter

The manual for this unit is (fortunately) erroneous in that it says it only functions and pairs with Optex 1000 series receivers. It operates fine with both the 1000 series and the "Wireless 2000" series receivers. The Optex RC-20U receiver that one might use with this TD-10U is listed in most places as having three channels, the manual specifies four and testing indicates it has four channels. This Optex TC-10U unit works reliably with an RC-20U receiver and since the receiver has a Form C relay it can be integrated into other commodity or home-made DIY alarm system equipment. The Optex TD-20U wireless infrared transmitters are good, but this TD-10U is better in that it is magnetically activated and so it makes for a very reliable door sensor. Additionally, if you open the door and leave it open the unit will trigger and then remain silent until closed again. This is helpful for those who leaves doors open at times for ventilation and do not want continuous chimes. There is only a chime alert when the circuit is broken. I'd recommend this and/or purchase it again.

Optex It's a pretty reliable brand when you compare it to sensor kits as the receiver and sensor only cost $ 30. This is more commercial. It also has good construction.

I have owned one of these for 15 years but in the 1000 series. The 1000 series works still to this day perfect. This 2000 unit works good but the motion sensor does not seem to be as good or as sensitive as my old 1000 unit. But still it works good enough.

Works great and arrived in perfect in condition.
