Read this before assembly!
**BEFORE YOU BUILD*** CHECK THAT BOTH YOUR BOXES HAVE SAME COUNTRY OF ORIGIN! I couldn't find all the parts in my instruction manual so I called Sauder customer support to see if maybe they had an updated manual. Turned out I received a mismatch set of boxes (1 box from China, 1 from Vietnam) and the manufacturer (not Amazon seller) had to send me replacement parts so I could build the whole thing. Apparently a known issue but they shipped it quickly and it all worked out. Just a tip to save you from starting to build to then have to wait for parts :)The good: this desk is beautiful and sturdy, great layout with drawers and shelves. Seller made sure to send me both tracking numbers via messages since it's 2 boxes .The not so good: it takes 50-something tedious steps, they're not difficult steps but definitely a few annoying ones. It's almost a sure thing that there will be a little chip or scratch whether before you assemble it or by the time you're done (but usually somewhere that doesn't matter).Overall, I love the look and for me the hassle was worth it but ... if you're not patient or too handy with putting things together you might want to skip this one.

Beautiful desk
The desk is beautiful. It is very sturdy. Definitely need 2 people to assemble. Lots and lots and lots of pieces. Came in 2 boxes. Assembly instructions were detailed and thorough. Took about 4 hours to assemble. My only criticism is there were some scratches on the shelves - but they are only visible to me when I'm sitting at the desk so its not a huge deal.

Nice Concept but Underwhelming
I really hoped this item (and the other pieces in the same style/set that I also ordered) would miraculously surprise me with superior quality at a mostly reasonable price. It did not. I bought this as a gift for my husband, and while he is able to use the set, it just feels cheap when I go into his office. Anyway, I don’t know if I would buy it again. It is serviceable, but I just wanted something nicer for my husband. He hasn’t complained about it, but I’m ashamed of it as a gift. I almost wish I’d just gotten him something simpler & less expensive. Maybe saved a little longer to get him something nicer.

It's a two person job. Really.
This product arrived a day early, and in good condition. First thing to know, this arrives in two boxes, one weighing 140 lbs, the other 85 lbs. You will need muscle to get this off the truck. Don't count on FedEx having that muscle on board. We were replacing our work desks and thus did the assembling over a weekend. Hubby and I have assembled furniture many times, and my advice, get the correct set of instructions (two sets, one for right return, one for left) Unpack and place pieces by type. Ends, tops, drawer pieces. There is hardware, and for both pieces, we had just enough. No leftovers. Make sure you understand the difference in the types of screws and cam locks/bolts. If you use a pan head where a flat head is indicated, you will be doing it over.Start at Step 1. Work the steps in order, check off as done. The illustrations were pretty decent, but if you don't have another set of eyes, it can get frustrating. Better to take the time to double check than have to disassemble and redo it.The first desk took us about 5 1/2hours. The second, 3 1/2 hours. By the end, we did the drawer assembly in lightning round time! Now to the cons, the hidden shelves are pretty small, and while my tower fit (on it's side), hubby's didn't fit at all We did fit the UPS units in those shelves. All in all, we are pleased, and the pieces are nice looking and sturdy.

Expensive for what you get!
I received this desk today and it took several hours to put together. The only issue I have with this desk is that the pricing is very high for what you actually get. I was under the assumption that it had some solid wood. It's all particle board. The walnut look also is more rustic looking than I anticipated. I suspect that the finish will scratch easily. Kind of on the fence about this desk. We'll see how it holds up.

the leg room is smaller than you think
so i got the desk for my husband because of the look and style. It looks great in the office. The color and over all feel of it is also pleasing to the senses. The leg room is a bit cramped for his 6foot 1 frame (one star off) when he sits there for too long. lots of storage. Just wish the file drawers had locks for items i don't want the kids to find. good desk for light work, however if you like to spread out files and take up room then keep looking

ITS BIG AND HEAVEY BUT WORTH IT
First off, it comes in two boxes. Me being a 34y/o, with a decent dad bod, was barely able to carry them into my house.Had my fiancee help arrange everything out on the floor and then she left me alone. After what seemed hours I was a quarter of the way done. Wasn't a good idea to start at 8 pm on a weeknight. I decided to take the next day off since I sold my couch to make room for the desk, and managed to finish the desk off BY MYSELF, THANKS HONEY!Pros: Nothing in the insane amount of pieces was missing! I even used EVERY SINGLE screw! I might have accidentally not paid attention to which screw to use when, and used the drawer locks on the table, but it worked out!Cons: Boxes didn't have handles so I couldn't try and bench press. Stickers got mixed up on which screw was which. So I just guessed.10/10 would buy again, but pray to the old gods I never have to again

Quality!!!!
This desk is beautiful and very well designed. It's designed for a small space but offers all the features of a large desk. 6 drawers that open fully and smoothly. As far as Assembly, my husband assembled this and it did take a while. He is very good at assembling ANYTHING so it was easy for him just time consuming. For someone who isn't 'engineer' minded, you might want to hire someone to assemble. But the assembling issue (if you want to call it that) is worth it. The desk is beautiful.
