Good quality. Sits on the edge of my 58.5mm E61 portafilter handle and stays put with the included magnets, and I can easily tamp through it. I've been more into dosing cups lately because of my specific grinder, but if you like to grind directly into the portafilter this is an excellent funnel for that.

Did you know there are 2 different types of dosing funnels, one with a inner collar/lip and one with an outer one?the normcore dosing funnel has an outer collar/lip, which means it secures to the outside of the portafilter basket, keeping it lined up. i didn't realize when i bought it, but the advantages to the outer lip is that there is no space or gap when the dosing funnel is removed (the inner lip takes up space along the edge of the basket, leaving a ring of space without coffee grounds). having the lip on the outside means, when you're done with your wdt, you don't have to do anything else besides tamp.at first, i was getting grounds all over the place when i was tamping because the grounds would push out to the sides as i was pushing down. i realized that the tamp (normcore v4 tamper) fit perfectly in the dosing funnel, so before i removed the funnel, i would lightly tamp with the tamper, giving me a little more space to place the tamper without worrying about grounds going all over the place.the magnets on this dosing funnel work pretty well, although, depending on your basket, it may work better than others. when magnetically attaching the funnel to different baskets, flipping the funnel upside down and shaking, holding the basket, the dosing funnel held pretty securely to the pressurized baskets that came w/ my delonghi, as well as the basket that came with my bottomless portafilter. the ims precision competition basket however, doesn't hold as securely.i thought at first it was because the lip of the basket was too big, but it turns out it's the same size as everything else. it turns out that while most of the top of the basket is flat, the inner edge is raised, maybe to help keep grounds from coming out. that raised bump on the top of the basket, is taller than the other baskets, so the metal that is to come in contact with the magnet is further away compared to the other baskets. still, it holds it securely enough while using it normally, so i won't be doing any modifications to the ims basket.the normcore also flares out at the top, making it wider. this helps with wdt-ing, allowing to work at more angles compared to the straight walled versions. it also makes pouring your grounds into the basket easier.although a little more expensive compared to other dosing funnels, i am very satisfied with how it makes it easy to wdt and tamp without making a mess. there was a little learning curve/trial and error to find the best way to use it, but i figured it out on day 2.would definitely consider buying another if i get a different machine with a different portafilter size

So its a funnel for your portafilter basket. It fits well, it funnels grinds, and keeps you counter a bit cleaner. I think the only downside about this is the price. Honestly I would have been perfectly happy with a bit of high-grade molded plastic (like the stuff power tools are made of) set with magnets since its all about function. But this is machined aluminum which is then anodized, so that is what you are paying for.That said it works.First the shape. The groove on the bottom sits OUTSIDE the lip of the portafilter basket so you have full access to DE clump the sides of the basket, and you can tamp with this in place. And its sized accurately for the 58mm basket I use.Been using it about a week and so far the magnets are staying in place. The extra magnets seem to give it a tight fit, it will hold up even if you turn the portafilter upside down, but not too tight so its annoying to remove. Your mileage will very depending on how ferrous your basket is. For example, one of my baskets, magnets don't seem to stick it because of the alloy its made from.I got the tall because I use a Baratza grinder so clearance isn't an issue for me. Gives me lots of room do do the WDT thing to break up clumps with clumsy abandon. Very good for morning coffee when you are not awake enough to be coordinated.The only problem I have is price. I know people who do machining for a living. I realize the margin I had to pay for this is kind of insane. (Think 10x) But all the competition apparently failed at being about 1oz of turned lathe turned metal sized to the nearest 0.05 of in inch, which is so pathetic its impressive. But its also a lunk of turned metal, so it *should* be a buy it for life kind of thing. I theory I could break this, but I would have to actually put effort in. Even the worst case, if a magnet comes out, epoxy will fix that in a minute.

I love this magnetic dosing funnel. It helps when doing WDT as part of puck preparation. There are two minor annoyances to speak of:1. The magnet does not hold on some 58mm filter baskets, notably the Big Bang from IMS. That's probably more of an issue with IMS and the material they use, but I think it's worth noting here.2. I regret getting the taller version. It doesn't fit the cut outs for the dosing funnel on almost all of the Normcore espresso stations. It would have been nice to have a place to store it.Otherwise, this is a great dosing funnel. Nice color, feel, and functionality.

Works great. High quality and convenient tool.

Used with breville bambino plus. Very secure with the extra magnets. We had another one and it barely held on. Works with factory breville espresso press. Would for sure buy again. Kind of priced high but sometimes you get what you pay for.

This fits our portafilter for our Breville Bambino perfectly. It's well made, aesthetically pleasing, and works perfectly.

Facilito mucho mi proceso para crear espresso, ya que antes batallaba mucho para poner todo el cafe que necesitaba en la canasta del portafiltro, y por mas que tratada de tener mucho cuidado, solia perder un poco de cafe en este proceso pero con este dosificador eso ya es historia. Lo estuve utilizando tanto con el portafiltro que viene en la Delonghi Stilosa como con el Normcore y lo que les puedo decir es que en ambos lo hace bien, sin embargo, noto que es ligeramente mejor con el portafiltro Normcore.

Out of the box it has small dents. None are larger than a mm but there are many which makes it look as though it was tossed around in a bin with other metal objects. Comparing this to a funnel I purchased for less than half the price which is much more nicely finished, this is slightly disappointing. Otherwise, it fits an IMS basket and the magnets are adequate
