TIME-SERT M11x1.25 Universal head bolt kit p/n 11125

I didn’t want to spend this much, but oh my god you can’t beat the peace of mind. The kit is idiot proof, and when you have to call a customer and say, “yeah I ripped the threads out of the block, so you may need a new engine.” is always the worst feeling. With this kit it takes 10-15 minutes to do it when you have the engine on an engine stand and know what you’re doing. The repair held up great and the car is still on the road 6 months later.

I removed the cylinder heads that was leaking on a Subaru. Found the head bolts was loose. Upon inspection found the threads were destroyed. We used these to fix the threads in the engine block to save the customer from an engine replacement.BE CAREFUL THOUGH. Their are 2 sizes of these kits. We found after the fact, somebody had already used the smaller Time-Sert kit so the one we ordered wouldn't work. We ordered the larger size and it kept the car on the road for another few years. Take it slow, and I recommend using a scope to keep an eye on exactly what you are removing from the block. If done slowly and carefully, this product will save the engine. Dealers would NOT sell anything related to repairing the block, they said they would only sell a new engine.
