Selle Royal Freeway Relaxed Saddle

This feels like you're riding your bike on a couch. it's amazing. The cooling functionality isn't really noticeable but I guess it's better than nothing. it's a bit heavy but def worth it. You can remove the mesh on the cooling part of it to make it better. If you care about your butt health, definitely get this.

This is a much more comfortable seat than stock one.Suggestion to manufacturer: please make the underside of the seat flat.The plastic bump with the "SELLE ROYAL" logo under the seat prevents proper mounting of mud guards like "Mucky Nutz Butt Fender". That bump angles the fender down into the wheel. I have to cut that bump off on my seats (it serves no structural purpose) and that allows the fender to mount properly and not touch the wheel when the seat is dropped.

I have been testing a lot of saddles looking for the right one for my rear. I tried several Terry models, some no names from China, every seat we already had in our garage from every bike my husband bought for himself or the kids. I have come to the conclusion that I need a big cutout in the middle, which this seat definitely has, and that I can't do without some padding, which this seat also has. I tried it out for an hour on the trainer and the results were encouraging. So I put it on the tandem and we tried it for a 30 mile road ride, and that went well also. So I moved it to the gravel tandem and we tried it on a 40 mile ride. The wind was not kind, and our average speed was low, and we were on the bike for 3.5 hours. My rear was very unhappy with me for most of that time, and is still unhappy 2 days later. I had a prior 'favorite seat' before this one, but I do not know whether my rear would have been happier on that seat than this one, or if the recovery would have been shorter. I do know that I did not feel any numbness during the ride, and I wasn't riding a chamois (I usually don't, I've got a lot of padding without).I am not sure my posture on the tandem is quite down to the 'athletic' angle this seat is made for--I tried the women's moderate version of this seat and decided it was too wide at the back. This one is better in that respect, but I'm not sure if gel is really the material I'm looking for--my other favorite uses memory foam. My husband says that with this seat, the complaints I have sound like newbie-needs-to-get-used-to-it kind of complaints rather than the uniquely fat person complaints I had before. We shall see once my butt is ready to ride again.

This Saddle is exaclty what I was looking for. I weigh around 160 lb, and I am a little boney. I commute at least 70 miles a week on a flat bar urban commuter bike. I only have about 36 miles of riding in with this saddle, but I think it is fair to say that it is definitely a keeper. It is quite comfortable. It is not too soft, and not too firm. The covering keeps the rain out, and is not slippery. It has a very unique and attractive look to it. It also seems to be of great quality. I think it will last me a long time. I would definitely buy this again. I bought a Sell Royal saddle for my wife's bike years ago, and it has held up extremely well. I liked the feel and quality of it, which is why I decided on the same brand.

My wife loved her first seat of this model. It wore out after a few years. That was expected. So I bought a replacement of the same make and model. After a few months, it started making noise and we discovered the seat pan had cracked.The company advertises a 2-year warranty on their web site. When I reached out to them for a replacement, they turned me down, saying I didn't buy it from their web site. I had to go through the seller. We all know Amazon only takes it back within the first 30 days. I'm stuck with it. Buyer beware!

I was having discomfort using the previous seat on my Bowflex exercise bike. I had to change as I was getting numbness where you don’t want it. So far this seat seems to have just the right amount of support in just the right places. It supports the “sit” bones without added pressure in between. After a handful of rides ranging 30-60 minutes… No more numbness. For reference, I am 5’11” and 215.

Rider's profile: 5'0" (153cm) with 100mm Sit Bones and 123lbs (56kg).[Update as of 11/25/2023]...Despite wearing top brands bib shorts with nice chamois, I still experienced some groin discomfort within 45min of riding.Turned out my a$$ prefers the saddle to be tilted downward slightly. I tilted the nose downward about 2-3 degrees. It helps with thigh clearance during pedaling while sit bones still belong to the wider area.** Note that no saddle could save you from any discomfort until your body ergonomics accommodate your bicycle's geometry. Bike fitting or tweaking is first! **Paired with decent bib shorts (Castelli, GORE, Assos, Pearl Izumi, Specialized, etc.)Easy to install onto seatpost. No difficulty sliding back and forth for adjustments. Will update later for any changes...

I held off buying a gel seat because I didnt want to add weight or bulkyness to my mountain bike. But after since getting back to biking, I found it was too discomforting so I had to try something new. Ive tried selle royals before but this time i went with an athletic which is narrower and lighter than the others. Its bulkly in size when compared to the standard xc saddles but so far i have no regrets. The comfort was worth giving up minimal weight thats not noticeable at all.
