Nice quality Precision Square
Very well made square. You can tell because of the engraved markings. So, very accurate. So far it's been great to use.

I had priced a double square like this at several sites
I don't do woodworking for a living but as a hobby. That being said I do mostly high-precision projects. I had priced a double square like this at several sites, but they were all considerably more expensive than this. But i decided to take a chance on this one, and it turns out to be dead on (as compared to the high-end 12-rule I also have anyway). And the "square" on it is accurate (apparently) to less than the error I can measure compared to the one high-end engineer's square I have.It does exactly what it's supposed to and there were no "surprises."So far I have recommended this to a couple of friends who are woodworkers, and I would gladly buy it again.BTW, the case is a nice touch - one of the "high end" versions of this I saw on another site cost roughly $65 more, and it didn't come with one.Very happy with the , and HIGHLY recommended.

Not even for hobbyists - let alone machinists.
-PROS-Square was delivered within estimated frame of time. Very nice, durable case and the square itself was snugly nestled into the foam cutout inside. The first thing I did was remove the blade and inspect it. It has a nice heft to it and, at first glance, it seemed like at the least a quality hobbyist's tool. The measurement markings were clear and the tool itself was clean of rust or burrs. The level was intact and functional. Unfortunately that's where the positives end.-CONS-The blade groove is not milled centered in the body, so there was wiggle when the blade was inserted and fastened. The face of the blade itself is not flat - there is a downward taper toward one of the edges of the blade and an upward taper on the opposite edge. This makes the blade look rhomboid when viewed from the ends. Also, the alignment groove is not precisely centered in the blade, so it slides into the body one way better than the other. When inserted the "tight" way, the blade wobbled side-to-side even after considerable torque was applied to the set knob - thanks to the blade groove not being milled centered in the body. When inserted the "loose" way not only was there side-to-side wobble, but the integrity of the square varied by approx 1.5 degrees.Overall, I wouldn't even recommend this square to hobbyists, let alone serious woodworkers or metal fabricators/machinists - depending on how you insert the blade, it isn't even square! No, for the price, I don't expect PEC or Starrett quality, but when the package itself says "Precision Double Square" I do expect a bit more than this. The cheap stuff I can buy at Lowe's is better quality than this.
