Great book
Book : The party seasonAuthor : SJI HollidayFormat : E BookRating : ⭐⭐⭐⭐This is my tour stop for this quick and easy read , with a "who was it" and "why they are doing it ?" suspense, there's a party killer on the loose she crashes Christmas parties and kills people based on the fact that they are good or not. This was quite a different theme and also an unexpected one. This one is a multiple POVs including that of the party girl ( Who's the killer), it has multiple stories and all have been connected dots are joined in order to discover who the killer is and why is she doing it. There is work before this one but it can be read as a standalone. The book has immense volume of suspense and is full of twists and should be read by the lovers of thrill and mystery. You would love it due to its unique theme and plot.I would look forward to read more of SJI Holliday.

Perfect Holiday Thriller
What a fun and interesting read this turned out to be. I always enjoy stories that are told from multiple characters' perspectives. I read this during the holiday season so all the ambiance described was easy to get into. As always I don't want to give any details, but I found I enjoyed the book enough to go back and purchase the prequel to it.

Fun festive thriller
This was my second attempt at finding a 'festive thriller' this year, and I have to say I enjoyed it a lot more than the first. It's quite a quick read and the pacing is very good. I liked the concept of the party girl killer - turning up at Christmas parties and killing men who 'deserve' it. I enjoyed the multiple perspectives and found the writing style to be very pleasant to read. The plot was really engaging and I was interested to find out the killer's motivations.I didn't realise this was the second in a detective series, it kind of felt as the reader that we should know the characters and their backstory and now I see why! I definitely think this should be made clearer when marketing. Another reason this didn't quite win a full 5 stars from me is that there were a few character/timeline mistakes which should have been picked up during the editing process - an example that comes to mind is in the first 'Harry' chapter we are told that he has been working at the company for six years since graduation, and then in a later chapter we are told that he doesn't have a degree at all.Overall I did really enjoy reading this book, and would recommend it as a fun, festive thriller.

Excellent…
Great book. I loved the main characters and how they get along, I loved the story and how everything unfolded at an easy pace - no screeching car chases or manic sprints up flights of stairs just good old-fashioned putting the puzzle pieces together. Why would a woman want to kill random strangers in hotels at Christmas? What has a research facility to do with it and what links it to a comatose patient in a care home? Everything comes together very nicely in this book which is rather well-written other than the use of “alright” instead of “all right” but don’t let that put you off. This is a good story.

Review
I read the predecessor to The Party Season, The Deaths Of December, a few years ago, and I definitely felt that the characters had more to give, so I was pleased to catch up with DS Becky Greene and DI Eddie Carmine. I love the humour between them and the way they bounce off each other. It's not essential to read The Deaths Of December before this one, but it will help you to understand the dynamics of the team and appreciate it more. The Party Season is written from a number of different perspectives: Becky, Eddie, Harry and The Party Girl. This helped me to see what was happening in the investigation from every possible side. Although this makes the novel more of a cat and mouse chase than a whodunnit, it's still an exciting read and it was fascinating to gain more insight into the characters, especially The Party Girl. The Party Girl is a difficult person to find, but the novel never felt slow paced because I enjoyed piecing together the snippets from other character's chapters to work out what was happening and that revealed some surprises. As the novel reached the ending, the tension suddenly increased and I was crossing my fingers hoping for a good outcome.I'm a self-confessed Scrooge and I loved that the author did not throw the Christmas theme in the readers face, but instead made reference to songs and traditions gently so that it made even someone like me feel a little bit more festive!I'd definitely like Eddie and Becky's stories to continue so I do hope this is something that the author is considering
