Q: Are these any good for adult colourists

They do have a slightly thick nib, but you can do thin lines too. I don't think you could do anything to intricate with them. Hope this helps.

Q: Does this come with a lid or is it just the tin and pens? Looking at buying for a plane journey but ideally would need something with a lid. Thanks

It comes as shown in the picure just tin and pens. My 7 year old Grandson uses these on flights and puts them in a soft sided Pencil Case and last year I bought him the 'Derwnt Pencil Wrap' and there is no problem.

Q: Are the lids easy to put on? Some pens you need a bit of force to get the lid to "click" onto the pen...which can be tricky for a 3 year old. Thanks

My 5 year old has no trouble. They are a single ‘soft’ click. Nice and easy
