This hand-held rectangle punch was perfect for my needs. All the lanyards I use for my non-profit have either round clips or those plastic snap retractable things, so that you need to have this tab/slot punch to fit our key card holders. Plus the name badge holders have two round holes with a tab cutout in the middle, so if you want them to sit straight you must either use two clips (one on each side hole) or a snap tab clip that goes thru the center rectangular hole. When I do an event, I want the badges to fit well and lie straight, because it adds to the professionalism. This punch works well and is just hefty enough that I think it will last quite a while. Side note: this works well when cruising, too. Take it with you and then use it on the side of your room key (careful to avoid the magnetic strip), and you can put your key card directly on your lanyard with a retractable holder.

Have had a badge break multiple times where my lanyard holds it. Replacement badges are $20, Slot Punch was half of that. Cut through my badge like a piece of paper. Very sharp, clean cut. All metal, very durable.

Definitely heavy duty but I feel the opening for paper is a bit narrow other than that it works well

I keep wanting to punch holes in things I shouldn't punch holes in, it's so smooth and makes really clean cuts. I got this to mass produce little plastic circles from stretchy film, a really finicky application, but the sharpness and power make it the only puncher that actually can do this task. Feels really well built too.
