Like the cover? You'll dig the book.
Super read! The beautiful mountain lion on the book's cover is just one of the dangers these characters face during a search-and-rescue effort amid raging forest fires in the Canadian Rockies. The characters' flaws made them seem real, and the lessons they learned due to their own misjudgments felt genuine. This is the first book I've read in this series by Darlene Turner and I will definitely buy the others.

MOUNTAIN ABDUCTION RESCUE by Darlene L. Turner
MOUNTAIN ABDUCTION RESCUE by Darlene L. Turner is the compelling, heart-tugging story of Park Warden Hazel Hoyt and Wildfire Unit crew leader Mitchell Booth as they try to unravel who kidnapped Hazel’s son and his fellow cub scout members and whose setting all the damaging fires putting forest, homes and lives in harms way. Their goal is to figure out a way to find the boys bringing them home safe and sound (the who and why can come later) and to bring down the Rocky Mountain Firebug.Hazel rebelled as a teen against her domineering father and turned her back on her faith at the same time. Her world fell apart when the man she thought she loved, dumped her when he found out she was pregnant. It meant returning home in disgrace, but the bright spot of her life was and is her now 8-year-old son Jackson. The experience, though, proved to her that she didn’t need or want a man in her life - ever. Supervisor Frank Hoyt, Hazel’s father, still won’t let her forget her mistakes and evidently there’s nothing she can do right in his eye. Lord knows she’s tried to please him and make him proud of her. It’s causing a big void in their daughter/father relationship.Mitchell was thrilled when an opening with the Micmore Wildfire Unit came up. Even more so when he was offered the crew leader position. There’s nowhere else he would love to be more than back near his home in the Micmore National Park, in Alberta. His first encounter with Hazel was a shocking one. Who would have thought that this sister’s best friend, that nerdy little kid, would turn out to be such a beautiful woman. However, after his experience with Ivy, who ended up being his worst nightmare, he’d sworn off relationships. She hadn’t been able to accept their breakup and ended up burying him alive saying if she couldn’t have him no one could. Thankfully a buddy had tracked him and saved him from a sure death. He’s determined to never open himself up to another woman and take the chance of history repeating itself. He’d easily been fooled once and never again!Regardless of her resolve, at the first sight of Mitchell all her old feelings from when she had a teenage crush on her best friend’s brother came flooding back. She has no time for this and remembers her promise to herself. She has a son to bring home. She will however, accept his help because regardless of how he treated her year’s ago, she knows she can trust him. All Mitchell know is that he will do anything to bring Jackson home, including giving up his own life. He’ll deal with how her eyes show him what a kind, skilled and compassionate woman she is now later – much later.Who is this Rocky Mountain Firebug and why does it seem like he’s personally targeting Hazel and her family? How does he seem to be two steps ahead of them at every turn? How can someone take so many lives and do so much destructive fire damage without even blinking an eye? Will they be able to bring all the boys back safely? Who is next in Firebug’s sights? Can they find him before he kills again? Is Firebug working alone and if not, who is his accomplice? Is it someone right there amongst them cluing him in or their plans? Will the embers of attraction be given the chance to glow with more than friendship between Hazel and Mitchell?MOUNTAIN ABDUCTION RESCUE will have you feeling all your emotions as they search for five little boys – including Hazel’s son Jackson. The events and suspense will have you quickly turn the pages as you try to solve the whodunit and why. Firebugs actions and attempts on Hazel and Mitchell’s lives will keep you on the edge of your seat as danger lurks around every corner. The romantic hints to a sweet romance round out this amazing story. Definitely a book that you won’t be able to put down until you know all the answers of where, who, and why! Darlene L. Turner wrote an inspirational story that’s woven with a fabulous thread of faith by using circumstances, verse and family quotes to tie it all together in a gentle way that everyone will love. It gets my FIVE STARS and I recommend it to everyone!I receive an ARC of this book with no requirement or expectations of a review. All opinions are completely my own.

A Real Page Turner !
Thank you to Darlene L. Turner for my advanced reader copy. All views and opinions are my own.The book centers around Hazel Hoyt and Mitchell Booth. Hazel is a park warden and Mitchell is a Firefighter.A serial arsonist named Firebug is active in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Things turn personal when Hazel's son and his camping troop are kidnapped. Firebug is out for revenge and will let no one get in the way.As the book goes on Hazel must rely on Mitchell to help rescue the boys. There is danger at every turn as Firebug becomes more desperate and dangerous. This book is definitely a page-turner! You won't want to put it down until you see who Firebug is. I really enjoyed it.

FIREBUG
Mountain Abduction Rescue by Darlene Turner was a good story, about a lost Boy Scout troop and a firebug setting fires. However the main character, Hazel Hoyt, mother of one of the missing scouts and the park warden, can not be called a heroine. She constantly falls apart into a whimpering mess.Mitchell Booth, the Micmore Wildfire Unit’s crew leader, is the older brother of Hazels best friend. He assists her in searching for the boys while resisting the attraction they both feel.Overall I enjoyed the book and will read Darlene’s books.I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Rocky Mountain Firebug
You can never go wrong with a book written by Darlene Turner. The action is amped up from the first three or four pages, and it never slows down. A serial arsonist is on the loose. He has been named the Rocky Mountain Firebug. He has destroyed acres of forest land with his signature of using a candle to start a fire. It seems Firebug is bent on destroying the forest and anyone who gets in Firebug's way.Park warden Hazel Hoyt has only ever wanted to earn her father's approval and his love. Frank Hoyt is an overbearing ogre of a man who belittles his daughter and all of his employees. He is well known for his gruff demeanor. She yearns for his approval. Hazel gets bitten by the Firebug when her son is kidnapped, along with his camping troop.Wildfires are raging all around them, but there is nothing that can stop a mother bear's need to protect and save her children, not even her overbearing father and a raging forest fire. Mitchell Booth is a firefighter. He vows to help her find her son, Jackson. Mitchell broke Hazel's heart many years ago, but she decides to leave the past in the past as she needs his help. They will battle raging rapids, forest fires, bullets and wildlife danger as they look for her son. I need an oxygen tank after reading this story. One of my favorite quotes from the book is as follows: "In order to move forward in life, you need to look back at your troubles and deal with them. It's then you will find peace." Hazel finds peace in her faith and through prayer. Her character was strong and strong willed, but she never gave up hope as her faith sustained her.Find a place to relax because once you start reading this book, you will not put it down until you read the last sentence.Thank you to the author for the ARC. I am leaving my review voluntarily.
