You'll never buy another scraper like a Bahco!
I own a ranch that is sided in all cedar shakes. Moved into the house 1 1/2 ago and wasnt sure if I was going to pull off the cedar shakes or side. I decided to keep the shakes because they give the house a certain kind of country look that we like. But man, these things were peeling paint badly. Did a lot of reading up on how to prep a house for painting wood shakes. I was thinking that this is going to take a lot of work and time and was mostly going to be in the preparation for painting. Well wound up getting the Bahco after reading all the good reviews and they weren't kidding! The scraper is the bomb. That little double edged carbide blade is making mince meat out of the paint. I tried power washing but NG. It all comes down to the elbow grease method. Besides you run a good risk of damaging the shakes with a power washer. So being newly retired I tried the Bahco out and was amazed. Never afraid of hard work I went to town on the shakes and man this thing really does the job. Being double edged I just maybe able to do the whole house with this one double sided blade. Bought two more blades just in case. Ergonomically its comfortable handle and angled head make it a breeze to get into any nook and cranny. So I readily recommend this product if you are going to take on a big job like Im involved with now. Grandson will be over this weekend to get up at the peaks while grandpa paints the already scraped exterior walls. Best to wear a face mask and hat as the dust and paint specks go flying all over the place. And on an older home you have to be wary of any lead based paint as well. UPDATE: we're halfway thru and still recommend the Bahco.

Overnight Shipping SAVED our DIY Scraping project!
This BAHCO blade is the BEST scraping blade ever made...for the BEST BAHCO scraper!!! Trying to scrape off 20 year old carpet glue that some dolt glued to a cement patio in order to install indoor/outdoor carpeting!! We were using my husband's 25 year old BAHCO scraper & he thinks the blade was also the original one that came with it! IT STILL SCRAPED WELL even being that old. So you can imagine how well the NEW BLADE worked after we replaced it......Love this product made in Luxembourg.

Very durable and cost effective.
I use this carbide blade in my Bahco scraper for many different tasks. Recently I scraped the (ruined) finish off of a piece of furniture. It was easy. The blade is sharp, flat, straight and durable. It has two working edges so it should last a long, long time. Please remember that although carbide is very hard it is also somewhat brittle and the edge can be chipped if you abuse it. Once chipped and dulled the blade should be thrown out as it is impractical to sharpen it. Well worth the money.

Good but Expensive
Good, but very pricey. Find an alternative if you can

Stays Sharp
I have two Bahco carbide scrapers. The carbide blades last a long time and are reversible (or rotatable). Even in very tough materials like hardened West System 105 epoxy filled with glass microspheres. These are my go-to scrapers over all other types, and I have them all. The small one with the three sided rotatable blased is great for corners, curves and so on. With that one and this one, you can scrape almost any surface.

Fits a 30 year old Sandvik scraper
These work very well on peeling paint on real plaster from the mid 1950s. Real plaster is hard as a rock and lasts forever but if not primed or painted correctly can slough off paint. Once you get rid of the loose paint clean the surface and make sure you use a good primer that is made for porous surfaces. Check the label carefully so you don't end up with the same problem again.

Good quality
These are nicely made like most everything else from Bahco

Nice and sharp!
Love these blades, they stay sharp much longer than hardened carbon steel blades. I now use these instead of using sandpaper, chemical paint strippers, wire brush, or steel wool. Amazing that a manual two handed scraper can be as fast as a powered disk sander; in my experience.
