Useful first finings
My preference in winemaking is to avoid using finings and let time do the job. If speeding up the process matters then this Bentonite is a useful option. It does not damage the quality and I find it usually enough. It does not polish the wine but I prefer maturing to do that job. It is cost effective and usually works. This particular product is more gritty than expected but it does work and if required it can be ground to a fine powder. Not as effective as some of the more expensive preparations but has less risk of damaging the wine.
