Bought to replace elasticated cords on ageing Lafuma recliners. Both had finally snapped this year after about ten or more years of faithful and comfortable, supportive service! Priced about the same as official Lafuma spares, but free delivery did the trick! Straightforward to use, as long as you follow the pattern from another chair or take photos first if you've just the one. Obviously gets more of a struggle as you get to the end of the run, especially on the long cords, but well worth the effort. Excellent product and service all round. Now I'm off to lie down...

I was going to buy a reel of replacement elastic, but wasn’t sure how long each original ‘lace’ would have been.As it turned out, they are much shorter than I ever would have imaged and need an enormous amount to stretching to get the correct tension.

Bought to replace fraying and broken set of Lafuma elastic laces originally on Lafuma deck chair. I undid the old laces on one side of the chair, then with the new ones mirrored the way the laces were weaved in the other part of the chair, as originally done. You'll get to a point where there's not enough elastic left, and you'll have to work it from the beginning, pulling it slightly so you get less slack and eventually you'll end up with more elastic at the end to finish the job with. Takes about 1 hour to replace all the old ones from start to finish. I'd recommend a spot of Radio 4, or Radio 3 / Classic FM if you enjoy classical music, like me. A cup of tea in between doing each side may also provide some motivation. It's worth it at the end, just think of that ultra-relaxing lie down on a rare sunny afternoon, the birds chirping, the still silent air, the warm breeze... etc. :-)

Excellent product, price and fit on the XL lafuma chair. I use my chair for Reflexology. Instead of replacing the back elastic threads ( which were showing no signs of wear ) I used the two shorter elastics intended to replace them to add more strength to the seat part by doubling up...I threaded each of them alongside the new long elastics from about the 4th eyelet onwards. I used the old elastic as a guide for each of the new long elastics as suggested by other reviewers - which was a great tip , thank you!. Then I used the short ones as described above to strengthen where the most strain is put on the elastics / seat....its all simpler than it sounds! My main concern when buying them was would they fit my larger lafuma which they do, perfectly - no that chair is back in action as good as new.
