My husband received this and is quite pleased with it. Prior to purchase, in reading the reviews, most of the "complaints" were that it did not haul gear up with the crank. Or it was loud hauling gear up with the crank. BUT, you are not supposed to turn the crank to haul gear up. (If you read about the item in the description or directions) Just hand over hand. and then hand over hand to drop it down. It is to be wound up when nothing is attached to it - purely for ease of storage. My husband finds it nice and compact, so he does not have to haul/untangle rope or cable. He does not wind it up while in his treestand, but rather, after he is done hunting, after climbing out of the tree.

Got this for hunting and really only got use it once. Next year I'll be using it all the time. It's great though, it's size is perfect and it pulls my bow up with no problems. Only issue was that the belt clip could be a little more secure, tried just putting it on my bag and it wouldn't stay, had to put it on my saddle to have it stay attached.

Was hesitant when originally purchased it.. but this thing rocks..Others discussed its too thin and this and that and bla, bla, bla... So this hoist has done 30 lbs up to the tree stand easily.. Now common sense says... Make sure you use leather gloves as Paracord or this hoist... you have to consider safely doing your hoist up and down...So far .. it's great and Recommend this to others vs untangling Paracord..Best tip... Ream out the hole opposite the cord to put a lanyard loop in so you can attach it to your hunting vest or belt.

This stand is a must have for hunting especially in complicated or higher places. It's easy to connect and have ready to use. It can support up to 60lbs so you know your equipment will be safe. The price is fair and it isn't too low or too high. It's very durable and even when I slid and fell this held in tight and I was able to come back up and continue my hunt.

It works ok. not what I was expecting but think it will come in very handy as a 2nd hoist. I was expecting a auto retracting hoist but didn't do my homework B4 adding to cart. All on me.

This is a really good product if you hunt. My son uses it to hoist up his equipment for hunting, and since then my husband has found so many more uses for it. It will hoist up a lot of different things depending on what you're wanting to bring up. It's very sturdy for it's size and accommodates anything being risen up to about 30 feet. Then all you have to do is wind it up for the cord to go right back inside. We love ours!
