performance was excellent, even on a low heat setting hands were ...
This is without doubt a superb product. Everything you need apart from hand tools is included. Installation was simple and the instructions comprehensive. With basic DIY skills I fitted these in about 2 hrs, this included removing the fuel tank to run the mains cable, as I wanted everything hidden and not visibly clipped tothe frame. Once done, performance was excellent, even on a low heat setting hands were warm and toastie, although the ambient temperature was quite high. Can't wait for those cold winter mornings and blast out the high heat setting, a must for all commuters

The product is fit for purpose and it is.
I have used oxford hand warmers before with confidence and no problems if you ride a motorcycle during the colder spells of weather they are not a gimmick they are a must and work really well a win win situation Thank you MAC.

Must have in winter
Purchased this in August for my Yamaha YBR 125, preparing for the winter. I should have bought these years ago, it makes the difference on those winter mornings. They are pretty straightforward to install. The only thing to be aware of is that you MUST switch it off every time (as this is not done automatically), otherwise, you will be bump-starting your motorbike as it will drain the battery.

Rubbish connectors
I'd watched a YouTube video on how to install these , especially useful on the throttle side to cut off the plastic grooves on the throttle sleeve to allow the new grips to fit more easily. Unfortunately I'd glued the grips before testing the system. Fitting the left side was much easier and so proceeded to connect directly to the battery and power up the bike. I turned on the controller to the low setting to start with and slowly felt it heat up a bit, but as the outside temperature was 3 Deg so knew that High was the only useful option. So selected high and they really began to heat up. I sat on the bike to move it to a more open area to avoid exhaust fumes in a confined area then noticed the left hand grip not as hot as the right. I then noticed the connection had disconnected, the grip side metal wire terminals were actually out of the plastic connector. I turned the controller off but of course no way of knowing which wire was positive and which was negative. Typically, when I reinserted them into the plastic connector, and reconnected them, I got it wrong and the quick blow fuse did it's job. Great! And no spare fuses supplied. Halfords didn't have any so more hassle trying to source some. This is not the first Oxford product I own, I have a battery charger of theirs, again with cheap crappy connectors that don't align properly. Sort it out Oxford, people pay a premium for your products but you cheap out on connectors and no spare fuses.

Great Grips for Great Price
Everything you need in the box! , Fitted the grips to my kawaski ER650 with no problems,Very easy to fit , just slide and twist on and glue in place ,took me little over half hour to fit and wire in placeget hot in about 2-3mins , the switch has a power setting so that grips turn off with engine or you can just switch them off if prefered

Really Not Very Good
I've seen these under a different brand name than Oxford. So I'm guessing that Oxford just buy in the switch, with the Oxford label put on it, and package it with their own grips. Anyway I connected the switch up to a battery and then checked the output at each grip lead with a voltmeter. One was 0, voltage when off, 10 volts on the low setting and 12v on the high setting. Fine. The other was 1 volt on off!!!!, 1 volt on the low setting and 12 volt on the high setting. So basically this side would have been on all of the time. So if it was wired straight to the battery then it would pretty much flatten it overnight. The other thing is the build quality of this switch. The top and bottom halves don't mate up properly. It looks as if a flange on part of the moulding was added as an afterthough and this just fouls the mating of the surfaces. I thought I'd try to fix it with a file and so I took it apart. Inside was just a real mess. The little circuit board was "mounted" in the case by a blob of epoxy resin. All in all, poorly designed, poorly made and just doesn't work. Finally, where is the quality control? Surely just testing the output voltages would be a standard procedure? Come on Oxford, I know you can do much better than this.

Hot Grips
love these hot grips, so so easy to install and get nice and hot on the hi setting. low setting isn't as effective though. the back of your hands and end of your thumbs still feel the cold though so still need warm gloves but for £40 these are worth it!

Brittle.
The left grip tube cracked during install. Works with lots of glue but very weak plastic on both tubes. Easy install. The wire cable on the throttle is stiff and causes the throttle to open. Will add a return spring. The control head is very large.I think this would work well on a large motorcycle.Update. Left grip has failed to heat.
