I let my grandson pick out his own Christmas present because kids these days are so picky. This is what he chose so I know he's gonna love it!

I got this for my son because he loves all things car related. It reminded me a lot of the toy car tracks my brother and I had when we were little. Unfortunately, as neat of a toy is it appears to be, I simply couldn’t get it put together. They’re a bunch of different parts of the track, many of which are very similar and and therefore difficult to tell apart. I sorted through them as best I could, and then used the connector pieces to connect them. Some of the connector pieces were also difficult to tell apart. I managed to get a few segments of the track connected properly, I think, but, as soon as I went to connect another piece, the pieces that were already connected came apart. It also included more pieces than the directions said we should have, most notably, two cars as opposed to one and two of the gadget that are supposed to help propel the cars. After fiddling with it multiple times, I just gave up trying to figure it out. I really wish I had been able to put it together, because I think my son would’ve loved it, so for that I’ll give it two stars. I ultimately concluded it just wasn’t worth the headache.

The slot car race track was selected for my 10 and 4 year old children. The track wasn’t very easy to put together and the instructions weren’t easy to follow. If you made a mistake, it also wasn’t easy to take the track apart. However, once the track was assembled, the play set performed very well. Both children were able to race cars and haven’t gotten much enjoyment out of the set. The cars can go pretty fast without falling off the track and they easily made the loops! The boys were able to work together on creating some alternate track configurations as well. The track is delicate. When my 10 year old went to take it apart, he broke an edge off of one of the track pieces. This was the direct result of how difficult it is to remove track from the connector. Overall, the magnetic race track was very cool and has already offered hours of fun.

What can I say about this? I love it. It reminds me so much of my own when I was a kid, but obviously modernized. The tracks were just a difficult as my old set was to put together, so at least that hasn't changed. Once we got it up, boy did it look grand. This set in the dark, it's amazing. The cars drive well. The remotes are awesome and have a great crank generator that makes the cars go. It's super fun to just sit and race each other. The kids love this thing. It's well made and the track is solid when it's assembled. I would definitely recommend this to anyone really. Kids or no kids, you'll have a blast with this. I love it and so do my own kids. We will be getting another set to add on to this one. 10/10

Our son loved this for his birthday. I had to do some setup as it wasn't easy enough for him (he's 8), but it wasn't impossible for an 8 year old either. I just jumped in to make it go faster. Really cool hand crank feature that changes the fairness of these tracks. In the day, everyone knew what the fastest car was, so it wasn't ever fair. This one you have to crank it fast to make it go fast enough to win (or even not fly off the track sometimes). Cool present!

You have to charge the cars - one charging cord provided. This is not compatible with other cars - just the ones provided with their magnets and sync capabilities. My 10 year old has enjoyed putting it together and using.

This race track was not the best. The fact that you have to crank the remote is not that fun as others. Also one of the cars did not last very long. Kind of became unfun as soon as you start playing with it.

This is an impressive set that comes with thorough and easy-to-understand directions and illustrations. I was unable to set up the full track (I am extremely space-limited) but the magnetized cars (the size of Hot Wheel brand cars) did well to the extent I was able to have them perform. This is a really cool set and over and over with each part, I was impressed by the quality. The rotary remote control that controls the car's speeds is so much fun. The designer/manufacturer of this set spent time and effort to make this toy live up to high expectations.
