I train OCR and CrossFit, and sometimes compete. I am in my 40s now and some things bother me - plantar fasciitis (mild) and pull-up bar work can tear at my hands. I have kids and don't want to be sidelined with bandaids and cuts, so I tape with rigid tape. I have used the stuff you get at stores, the big brands you find online, including the ones that market themselves for CF. Shield's product is really solid. Top things I like: - fabric is SOFT - adhesive is strong, but doesn't make handling the tape a huge pain - ripping by hand is really good - this tells you they aren't using cheap junk fabric like some do. - I tape myself, I don't have a trainer to do it, so getting a high quality product direct at home is a plus I'll be honest, I also like that it's made in USA (sorry mom - I know I'm not supposed to post feet on the internet)

This tape is great. Use it instead of athletic tape – it stretches so it doesn’t cut off circulation, and you can tape over a joint and still move it while wearing the tape. Very cool, really different.

This stuff rocks. I first purchased it to help with my plantar fasciitis pain, for which it is great, but have had several other uses for it since. I’m in the military and take the fitness part of my job seriously, so I train hard. No matter how careful I am, things happen. Most recently, I rolled my ankle while carrying a 60lb ruck, and this tape came to the rescue. Since it is so rigid, it really limited the mobility of my ankle so my body could do its thing and heal. In the gym, I’ve used it to protect my fingers and/or palms from the punishment of barbells and pull up bars on high-rep workouts. My skin is super sensitive, and has flared up with store-bought tapes in the past. No irritation with this stuff, even though it sticks better than those other tapes. Also, it’s made in the USA? Icing on the cake. I will definitely be keeping this in my gym bag and ruck every day moving forward.

I mostly use this tape to wrap my wrist for support when play hard (skiing, mtn biking, snowmobiling, etc.). While it's less sticky than the J&J tape I'm running out of, it rips a little easier and works fine for wrapping over pre-wrap to create a tight, solid wrap. It hasn't cared that I've sweated into it or that my wrist doesn't want to stay in the position that I wrapped it (read: am flailing and having to make another save because I have the grace and technique of a sledgehammer some days) . . . the tape has the strength and stickiness to hold together fine. I can see where if you were doing intricate, specialized tape jobs it might not end up being sticky for your needs, but it works fine for what I described. I only buy a case every year or two . . . hopefully it will still be available and a good deal when it's time to get another case, 'cause I would definitely buy it again.

I've been a trainer for 10+ years. I'd never heard of this brand but one of my kids brough in a roll of their Turf Tape and it was the best performing product we've seen. I ordered a case of the white and black athletic tapes and tried them over the last two weeks. Top quality- tears easily, strong and it holds up very well. Compares very well to the Coach tape I've used for years. Very happy to see that it isn't another made in China tape. Made in the USA!
