KeySonic 5600XL Premium Aluminium Keyboard

The keyboard comes with a leather overlay which makes the aluminium keyboard warm to use. Metal is cold and could damage your wrists. The black aluminium is slightly brushed and nice to touch.Don't be frightened by the 'Strg' key in the photos - mine came with 'Ctrl' keys. Works perfectly fine in England :-).The extra functionality keys are very limited and enough - Volume Down, Volume Up, Mute, Sleep. You don't really need anything else. Keep it simple.I've been using this keyboard since 2010 and it has been worth every penny. Excellent feedback. An audio controller. Two USB ports. One downside was that I had to get a new one as there was sugary spillage once and I did not like sticky keys. And one of the USB ports stopped working for whatever reason.On Linux the audio controller is called 'Planet UP-100, Genius G-Talk' and is supported out the box on Ubuntu 14.04.The cable is quite long and has a power connector as well if you want your keyboard to supply extra power to your USB devices. It is USB 2.0, not 3.0.Key reason for getting this keyboard was that it would be stable. And it is very stable. Zero flexing. It is hands down the best keyboard I have ever used. Next on the list would be Lenovo followed by Apple.

This is a really nice keyboard with a really good touch feel for programming. Combined with the handy USB ports for peripherals to be placed on the desk conveniently it is a really nice keyboard for its price. I just wish it came with a few macro keys and then it would have everything.

I have been using this keyboard for several months now and it is absolutely lovely. You know that feeling you get when you realise that you just have a nasty, cheap keyboard? Well, you get the opposite feeling with this one. Great!

Had a plastic keyboard for along time and needed a replacement.I do not like laptop size keyboards so went for the Keysonic aluminium ACK5600.I wanted something that would last a long time and look good too.This keyboard is better than it looks in photo's it's solid aluminium and isa fair weight for a keyboard.XP found and loaded any drivers without issue and the two built in usb portsare perfect for the use of my radio mouse just 150mm away.The keys are good but not as quiet as laptop's but everythings laid out ok.I have not tried the sound chip as this was not a need for me.A good buy if your looking for a quality board and do not mind spending a littlemore especially as some plastic boards are nudging the £40-£50 mark.
