All around excellent bento box!
Bought this bento box for my 5 yo. We were looking for stainless steel and leakproof if possible, and ease to open and close for little 5 yo hands. This bento box check all those boxes! The quality is great after a few uses thus far. The silicone is great quality with no fillers (shout out to the reviewer who provided such a thorough explains on silicone and fillers and what to look for! thank you!👏)!This bento box also holds quite a bit of food! The price feels fair compared to a similar brand (Planetbox) style which we were also considering (but didn’t have the silicone insert). And the quality of this product leaves me feeling hopeful for its long lasting durability for years to come!

Roomy Bento
I purchased this to replace my sons Bentobox which was too small. Very pleased with the product. Fits a nice size lunch and the removable containers make it super versatile.

Nice tight seals
This Bento Box is nicer than most I've seen. Stainless steel - right there it's better than the others - I live in the desert SW where anything plastic degrades in short order then becomes brittle and breaks apart. Not so in this case! I have high hopes for the longevity of this box made of stainless steel and food-grade silicone. The silicone seal surrounds each compartment (one large seal, with compartment-sized secondary seals shaped just right!), to keep the food completely separated however in this case, the smaller of the two leakproof cups doesn't quite fit inside the box - the edge of the lid of this one tweaked the silicone seal of the compartment it was in - I trust the seal will spring back to it's original shape by tomorrow, I'm hoping.A very nice bento box, it seems as though it just may last a good long time, with proper care. The instructions read that it is dishwasher safe, however you must remove the seal first, and it is recommended that this part be washed by hand.I do highly recommend this box despite the tiny flaw of the cup tweaking the seal, perhaps I just was unlucky and got a little cup that is off-spec just a hair. The second, larger cup fits perfectly and they are both leakproof, according to my test.If you are looking for a good quality Bento box, I believe you would be hard-pressed to find a better one.

Far exceeded my expectations.
Update: This container is a non-ferrous metal (magnets do not stick) Some stainless steel products are not magnetic. Many are. I do not see a claim about the steel quality in the listing, so I do not claim that they have mislead, only that I was surprised by it. Planetbox always come with magnet name tags to decorate the boxes- the magnets we use do not stick. So that leads me to believe it is not 304 stainless. It did not rust in my dishwasher- so it is not 18/0 and likely not 18/5 steel. It is just an unknown that was unexpected.I am a bit of a connoisseur of steel lunch containers. I am comparing this to a somewhat vintage Planetbox and a more recent era planet box as pictured. I also use Kleen Kanteen, U-Konserve, and Blue Water Bento as pictured. (my negative review of the kleen kanteen is here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/RXUFKF3JTDEYK/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B08DRNR1TM)This new box blew me away. It far exceeded my expectations. I have several planet boxes and have for years wished they would create some type of silicone seal for it. Planet box makes a durable sturdy steel box with nothing toxic- however they leak and even if you pack rather dry things like grapes and a sandwhich - somehow mayonaise ends up over in the grapes compartment or liquids from the grapes end up soaking your sandwhich bread and it's just somewhat unpleasant. Because of this we have switched over to the individual sandwhich type boxes for our most daily use.I still prefer a bento for a picnic or in the car; any time we are not eating at a proper table, because I don't want lots of pieces and covers when traveling as they have to easy a tendency to get lost. The bento provides so much security here, because it is all attached one piece. Because of this I haven't given up my love of bento; but they have only had limited use. Then along comes this box by Flatbush Goods. Wow what a creation.I had lower expectations because I haven't heard of this company and because they do sell plastic goods. This is top notch.+ The silicone lid lining is easily removable for cleaning.+ The silicone passes a bend "blanch" test for cheap fillers. (If you are unfamiliar with various qualities of silicone, cheap silicone will often have various fillers in it which make it turn white when folded. In one picture I am folding the lids of the three sauce cups. The planet box, this Flatbush Goods, and a Joie. The Joie is a cheap steel sauce cup with a cheap silicone lid. The silicone there is much thinner and turns white when folded. This product is higher quality and does not turn white and its a good thickness.+ Reduces leak between compartments with amazing effectiveness. To test I put food coloring and water in each section. I then pressed the lid down and shut the clamp on the front of the box. Then i held it over a sink and tipped it 90 degrees to the left and gave it a hearty shake, then turned it 180 to the right and gave it a hearty shake. I shook it upright then opened. The colors didn't bleed into the other compartments. I honestly expected some leakage- but even thin water didn't leak between compartments. (A few drops came out of the container on the right side, but they must have been water on the rim of the container not in the compartments, because the colors remained separated.) This should amply cover the issue of fruit juices from one compartment making a soggy sandwich bread in another compartment. This is my best simulation of backpack going on and off the bus for today. :)+ Both the silicone lid and the steel box are dishwasher safe+/- the dipper cups have a flatter bottom than planet box or Joie. The + is they are less tippy and less likely for my kids to spill the - is they wont likely nest inside eachother well. the Joie cups stack inside eachother nicely but the planetbox do not and these do not appear they would either.+ The steel of the bento is very thick and has well rolled edges with a matt finish.+/- the steel of the dipper cups is thinner, but thick enough that I can't bend it. It's a nice polished steel on the cups.- The only slight imperfection I find is on the larger dipper cup the silicone lid is a slight bit loose. It can rotate fairly freely and when shaken vigorously it did drip a few drops out. On the smaller dipper this did not happen. I'm not certain if this was a random quality control issue, or if they would all be like this. But I was shaking heartily to test and it would likely hold up to typical backpack transport.Note* All the brands containers are made in ChinaNote: I also appreciate that they honestly claim it is 'leak resistant' and do not overstate that it will be leakproof. It is undoubtedly significantly leak resistant!Planet box has been in my family for about 15 years, but I think this product will give them a run for their money. It just hits that niche of durable steel with the benefit of a high quality silicone (free of fillers) creating a seal around each compartment to stop foods from touching. One more tip: For easy backpack transport of this type of bento box, I tend to favor backpacks with a 'ball' or 'shoe' compartment on the bottom. Under Armor and others make backpacks with a bottom zipper to put shoes in. This type of backpack can hold a bento box, and that way the bento stays flat on the bottom of the bag and in a separate compartment from papers on the way to school- and it helps the backpack weight load be more ergonomically distributed.Hope that helps. Happy shopping.

Not practical
Vintage me was so excited for the metal food tray look bento box. It isnt ideal for daily usage. The metal can not be microwaved - entire meal must be okay cold or room temp. When washing you have to make sure it lays open to dry due to the risk of rust.I was very excited to get it and once I set it up to use it and tried a few days I realized its not possibly for daily use.

All in one bento box
I haven't tried anything hot in it, that seems concerning to me. The whole thing is stainless steel & fingers might burn touching it. The entire lid is the seal, when shipped, the 2 smaller bowls are inside the box & it slightly disshaped the seal in those areas, so some leakage might happen there. I don't care for the latch it feels flimsy and like it could easily slip off in a bag. This is supposed to be designed for kids & I'm wanting to double wrap it in a soft lunch bag for added safety. I just don't trust it in a kids bag all day. It's a bit small for an adult though which is disappointing considering the construction. I'd feel better if it were targeted towards adults rather than children. Just maybe make the compartments a little bigger & add one more latch & it would be great.

A great alternative bento box
I HATE plastic, so finding a bento box that is stainless steel and then also has a silicone piece that is microwave safe is a double bonus. It's definitely a great size and it cleans up nicely. it seals well and it feels like it's going to last for a really long time.
