Perfect Super Senior Citizen's Batphone!
My elderly (early 90's!) relative has had this exact same phone for years and it's been perfect for her level of need in a cell phone. She likes the flip-phone style because it is easy for her to answer and hang up without pressing buttons. (Plus, it's now trendy because, Adele - ha!). The ringer is fairly loud enough for her to hear if it's set full blast on the ringtone that sounds like an old-school telephone. She has not been able to learn how to use the other features, like camera (super basic and low def, but still better than none) or Web browser (can't comment; never tried it), but then she doesn't really need more than a "dumb" phone anyway. The Tracfone top up cards are readily available down at the local grocery store and for the amount of minutes she uses per month, she doesn't need to be on a contract. It was easy for me to set up service/ transfer her phone number to this phone. She's never had a bit of trouble with this phone or service, except when she drowned her last one on accident. Definitely not waterproof, but it's a decent little phone for an extremely cheap price. I will happily continue to purchase this same phone for her anytime she drowns or loses it.

OK as cheap flip phone but features are a bad joke.
I bought this after deciding that it was silly to keep paying for a smart phone that I rarely use. I always liked flip phones because they fit into your pocket so easily, and the microphone is near your mouth so callers can hear you better if there is background noise. If this is all you are looking for, this phone fits the bill. But the features are a bad joke. I had hoped to be able to use this phone to retrieve my e-mails. But the load time is absurdly long, and it takes even more time to try to zoom in on the tiny screen enough to see your e-mail. Plus, while I could use it OK for my personal g-mail account, it won't work at all on my work account, which is set up with Go-daddy. And the web browsing is too slow, and web sites look like like they were written in a font meant only for fleas.Music? What a joke. There is NO HEADPHONE OUTLET on this phone. Do they expect me to listen to music with the phone on speaker? I have no idea if it would work with a bluetooth headset, and I really don't care, because I am not going to invest a dime in tricking out this phone. Also, the charger slot looks like an ordinary micro USB connector, but THERE IS NO WAY TO CONNECT THIS PHONE TO YOUR COMPUTER. So good luck if you want to load your contacts, photos, or music onto this phone.I know that there may be a way to load things via bluetooth, but I tried, and I got nowhere. And, while I am not a tech geek, I haven't had as much frustration with any product I have purchased in at least 10 years. Unless all you want is a flip phone, don't buy this.

BASIC, PRACTICAL, GOOD DEAL--AND INEXPENSIVE--NO CONTRACT
I am not a cellphone addict. I bought this to have in my car for emergencies when out on the road. The one and only thing wrong with this simple phone for me is that it is not powered by Verizon. I live in the boonies and the only cell phones, smart ones or otherwise, that get service in my area have Verizon. Once I get about 5 miles away from home it works just fine. Of course, that means that if my auto emergency takes place within those 5 miles I'd have to walk a maximum of 4.9 miles back home to get help. LOL. But 4.9 miles I can handle on any day that doesn't have temperatures above 85F or below 28F. I haven't set up email or any of the other functions available on it so I can't speak to them. As I said, all I really wanted it for was emergencies when travelling in my car. I leave it off all the time unless I need it. A few times when at the supermarket or some other destination I've turned it on to check something and it's worked fine. However, it seems to take an awfully long time to turn on. I don't know how long smart phones, or any other non-smart phones take to turn on, so I can't say if the startup time on this phone is excessively long or not.One feature I absolutely love is that it's a flip phone. That means I don't have to buy a case or protector for it. I just close it up and it's safe tucked away in my purse, on those rare occasions when I bring it with me into a store, or in the center console of my car.One note: Since I keep it primarily for emergencies in my car, I should probably turn it on when I'm driving. That way I wouldn't have to wait a minute or so for it to come on if I had to dial 911 pronto. I'd just have to remember to turn it off when I get home so I don't run the battery down. And remembering to do that is the hard part. LOl

Great value!
I wanted a small flip-phone with a keypad and the LG 440G does the job well. After using my wife's Motorola Tracfone, I'm not enamored with touchscreen phones and I want the phone to simply answer the call when I open the phone. The basic functions of voice and text communication work well as does the Contact list. The learning curve is very short, especially if you've gone through the on-line tutorial to learn what the buttons do and how the menus are organized. I only briefly tested the internet browser but it seems to work well also. The LG 440G even works via Bluetooth with the Jeep uConnect handsfree system (which has a reputation of being fussy about phone compatibility). Not much to say in the critical category. Keep the speakerphone volume at a moderate level or it will distort. One can only expect so much for a phone at this price point but it would be nice if the Contact list and photos could be transferred via USB to/from a computer or, even better, sync up with Windows Live Mail Address Book. Would also be nice to have a slot for a micro-SD card to expand the memory. All in all, the phone delivers a lot more than I expected so I consider it a very good buy.
