Q: What type of battery is it and are they replaceable and how much? Is it safe for the dishwasher?

The battery is detachable, and can be swapped out for a different one. It charges by USB-C and will use an 18W quick charger to fuel up in 20m or so if you have one, but will charge fine on a 5w USB, like a phone. It can actually be used to recharge your phone too—the USB charging port is bi-directional. Not sure I would ever use it for that, but it works. Since the battery is built for ThermoJoe products you can replace them if you want, but only from ThermoJoe. It isn’t safe for the dishwasher. In general, thermoses aren’t usually, since rapid temperature fluctuations break the vacuum seals. But, this also has electronics in it, so definitely hand wash!

ThermoJoe has two different mugs. A travel mug that is made for people on the go and the desk mug that is made more for the office, kitchen or desk. The desk mug will fit a cup holder since the bottom power supply is removable and interchangeable with the travel mug but the lid is not spill proof like the travel mug is. The travel mug is 16oz while the desk is 14oz. Many happy customers for both!
