The only thing I disliked about this cap is the velcro elastic. It would have ben better with a different adjuster so I might a separate buckle. Now it adjusts much easier. I do not use the cap for work, it is used while riding a mobility scooter so I am more visible to cars.

Thin inner shell has protected my noggin from bumps and bruises I was getting on a regular basis maintaining lawns and gardens. Adjustable Velcro strap helps keep the hat on even if you encounter a large tree with many low hanging limbs. Slots in hard insert coupled with mesh panels in hat provide for adequate circulation in warmer weather. Ear protectors may or may not be as effective since this will increase your head dimensions by at least an inch or so. Mine still work but not as well. Bright color helps first responders find your body in case of terminal impact.

The hat fits nicely and looks good. However there are two problems if you fall and think it is going to protect your head. The visor is also made of a hard material and it seem like if you fell face first, and if the hat stayed on, the visor would hit the ground first and possibly cause your head to snap back perhaps resulting in a neck injury. I am not sure the hat would remain on your head if you were to fall in any direction, so very little protection in a fall of any kind. If you were to get hit on the head with and object, or if you were to wear it in a car, it might protect you somewhat.
