This hard drive external case works without a hitch. You open the cover, position the slot, and plug it into a USB port. That's it. It was immediately recognized by the PC in detail. The brand, the capacity, and the speed were all displayed. I did not have to initialize it since it already had data on it from previous PC use. Later, when I wanted to use it for backup, it formatted to my choice of NTFS. Not a glitch. I think it goes into sleep mode when not being used, but I am not sure. I have been using my PC for hours, sometimes as much as eight, and there have been no signs of overheating or any malfunction.The only problem I had was with the cover. It seemed that once I got it on, it wanted to stay shut forever. It was difficult to put the cover on or off. Great to prevent children from accessing it, but it was a hassle.I like it a lot for its simplicity and clear plastic see-through. The plastic is not the strongest, but with the HDD in it, it was more than strong enough. For its functionality, ease of use, and low price, it is a winner.

Great Product for the price - quick transfer, and works well for older spinning HDs. Highly recommend.

This enclosure works great. Perfect fit. Easy to install. I ordered 2. Glad I did.

This unit works great. The only two complaints are that it is difficult to install the drive and to remove the cover if you need to remove or want to change the drive. Also the very bright blue activity LED may be irritating.I had a hard time installing the drive. I was afraid to force it in the connnector. I decide to remove the board, install the drive to it and reinstall the board and drive together. Also if the cover is installed completely, it is hard to remove it. If you plan on changing drives, especially often, I suggest not pushing to cover on all the way.The performance is good, it get about the maximum speed out of my SATA SSD. If you want faster, you would look for a unit with faster USB interface and NVME SSd, not SATA. This unit, especially the USB-C version from them, performs the fasted possible from SATA.If you plan to swap drives often, get more of these, they are cheap enough or get a different configuration.

The drive case works great. I like that. It's clear because I can see which drive I'm dealing with. I ordered one to see what it was going to be like and then ordered two more and even though they're the same exact item, there's two different styles. I found that. Odd. That being said, they don't get overly warm and they work fine.

This product looks pretty nice, and it was fairly easy to use. Please don't get me wrong, some attention and common sense is still required to remove the cover, insert the HDD and close the cover. It is a very tight fit so I have no intention to remove the HDD once it's in.

The item is great....better then expected. I had an old xbox one x that I parted out....so the drive went in this....after re partitioning and formatting, I hooked it up to my xbox series s for extra storage....
